Art Is in My Heart
In response to Dancing Elephants Press Prompt 5 of 52

I was thinking about what I should write or my heart story. There are so many ways to go when we look at our hearts. The heart is an amazing organ with many physical attributes to keep us alive and many emotional attributes that also keep us alive and keep us going.
A few months ago, I had this inclination to start to do some artwork. I have wonderful artists in my family, my daughter, and my sister. They create amazing paintings. I am not a person who draws well or has a good sense of colors and matching things. Yet, doing some paintings with my sister felt relaxing to me. It was fun to play with colors and see what comes out of them. If you don’t like it, you can go back and change the colors. I tried some traditional ways of painting and quickly realized that traditional painting is probably not for me.
Still, I had this feeling that I need more art in my life. A few weeks ago, I found some videos on YouTube about pouring paint as an art form. I also have a co-worker who does pouring art.
It looked like a lot of fun, and I thought well, why not?

I had some leftover paint and started to mess around with it. I had some canvases that I did not like what I painted on and just created something new with a pouring technique. There is something relaxing about pouring paint. You cannot mess it up and if you do you can just pour some more paint over it again.
I knew I wanted to learn more and do more of the pouring painting techniques. And just have fun. Last weekend I went to the store and bought more canvases and more paint. It is time to experiment more.
Yesterday I got up early and used some leftover paints to create a few new pieces. I had so much fun.
3 small canvases are from the dollar store wanted to use them as an experiment. I just used the colors I have. I ended up adding Amsterdam green and Deco art Gold to the last painting and used my fingers to create a forest scene. I love the first one a friend said it looks like a volcano to me it is a person stepping out from the background. The 2nd one is just a fun mixture a friend said it looks like a storm. I am not sure what it is but it is fun I like it. What do you think? I am just having fun experimenting. The first time I used alcohol with the paints. I did get some nice-looking cells in some spots.

Even if nobody likes my art. I like it and it is fun for me. Why do I do art?
I do art for my heart.
I do also consider writing as a form of art. When it flows it is so beautiful and the words just come out without any difficulty. It is almost like you blink and the page is full. Same with dancing. Gentle movements create a great flow just like paint. Same with music. I love the sound of the singing bowls they fill my heart.
All these art forms in my life fill my heart with joy and smiles. My heart smiles when I do these activities and my new love is pouring paint and dancing with gentle movements.
I do art for my heart.
I make my heart smile.
What do you do for your heart?
I created a separate YouTube channel just for my painting endeavors. My new channel is in its infancy. The channel is one day old. Birthdate November 4th😊. Let me know what you think.
