BOWLING FOR ASSININE
Another One Bites the Dust — Target Practice on Humans
Too soon? Too late for many.

The human who stores my narcissistic reptilian tendencies deep in the we-must-survive brain is angry and frustrated over what she calls “a senseless waste of human potential.” If I don’t satisfy and purge her emotions, she’s likely to write a sappy opinion piece or manifesto rant. This is less likely to rot your teeth.

Americans may lament the passing of more people targeted as substitutes for beer bottles on stumps, but I suspect they get something out of the emotional roller coaster of other people’s misery.
Comedy and tragedy are two sides of the same coin. They both produce hormonal responses that break up otherwise monotonous routines.
People are absurd and do stupid things, and put up with stupid things, just because those things are. Once something exists, killing it just seems wrong. Even a bad idea.
Children going to school, in church, or bowling is another story.
When the ‘founding fathers’ wrote the Constitution, they lived in a time when it made sense for everyone to keep convenient slaying machines.
They’d fought a revolution and wanted to take the land from Native Americans and Mexico.
Gun fights on Main Street, marauding cattle rustlers, and predatory creatures invading their space weren’t uncommon.
Maintaining an armed militia in case those pesky British came back, or the French got bold, or scoundrels took over the government seemed legit.
They had no clue what the 21st Century would look like, or just how civilized this new civilization would be.
According to Pew Research released in April, 2023, nearly 50,000 people died from gun-related injuries in the US in 2021.
About eight-in-ten U.S. murders in 2021–20,958 out of 26,031, or 81% — involved a firearm. That marked the highest percentage since at least 1968, the earliest year for which the CDC has online records. More than half of all suicides in 2021–26,328 out of 48,183, or 55% — also involved a gun, the highest percentage since 2001.
If Americans took gun violence and mass shootings seriously, we’d do something about the surge in semiautomatic weapon sales in this country. Reproduction is our biological imperative, loving our children is natural, and we say we value human life.
We just love the First Amendment more. People get their right to bare arms confused with the convenience of slaughtering innocent bystanders.
On Wednesday, October 25 2023, a military reservist opened fire with a semiautomatic weapon in Lewiston, Maine.
It’s an inconvenient tragedy, but obviously, it’s also a joke. Otherwise, Americans would do something about the mentally ill using kids at a bowling alley for target practice.
Robert Card won’t get justice in this life. The New York Times reported the two-day search for a shooting instructor has concluded.
“The gunman suspected of killing 18 people and injuring 13 others in Maine was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday night at a recycling center where he used to work, officials briefed on the matter said.”
Not mentally ill?
A police bulletin identified Robert Card, 40, as a person of interest in the attack that sent panicked bowlers scrambling behind pins when shots rang out around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Card was described as a firearms instructor believed to be in the Army Reserve and assigned to a training facility in Saco, Maine.
The document, circulated to law enforcement officials, said Card had been committed to a mental health facility for two weeks in the summer of 2023. It did not provide details about his treatment or condition but said Card had reported “hearing voices and threats to shoot up” the military base.
In this case, there’s documented evidence the man suffered from delusions. Suicide was apparently his most convenient way out of this mess. Mentally healthy adults don’t kill themselves.
People’s lizard brains want to survive at all costs. Depression can be a worthy adversary when honoring a quick misfiring in the frontal lobe. He’s usually the suspect when impulse control is violated.

Researchers at Brigham Hospital analyzed FBI data from more than 200 active shooter incidents in the United States and found the number of wounded or killed victims doubled when a semiautomatic rifle was used instead of other types of guns.
I’ve heard the arguments before — “I need automatic weapons to protect myself from all those who want to kill me.”
Um… maybe get some counseling if you’re expecting retaliation on a massive scale. Just how many have you infected?
If you believe The Walking Dead, guns work on Zombies if their heads explode. But according to World War Z, 28 Days Later, The Last of Us, I Am Legend, and Train to Busan, guns aren’t likely to save those worried about reanimated corpses.
I’ve researched buying guns online before. State lines and laws aren’t effective guardrails when you can order a customized handgun with several magazines allowing for hundreds of shots.
Good thing my boss isn’t afraid of a zombie apocalypse, because she can have dark moods that’d end me quick.
For about the same price as filling up her gas tank, she can own an efficient killing machine.
Go ahead and look for yourself — there are good ole’ boys happy to help.
Be ready for endless unwanted solicitations and spam.
Bard, ChatGPT, and Google’s Search Generative Experiment (SGE) couldn’t find evidence of anyone justifiably using an AK-47 or AR-15 in self-defense and killing more than 2 people.
But we can always dream.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) reference article on automatic weapons and large magazines popped up the following:
Some states have passed legislation making it unlawful to communicate with those under 18 about broad categories of firearms, parts, and accessories.
As a result, the NRA is forced to restrict the sending of certain materials and information for these states. The restriction is made under protest, but we have to do this to comply with these states’ infringement on the freedom of speech of the NRA and our members, supporters, and the general public.
Once this unconstitutional law is struck down or repealed, this restriction will be removed.
Boo-hoo. 💘😞 I think pornography uses the same language.
I had to enter my birthday before accessing the undated, highly biased article whining about state restrictions and claiming the 1994 assault weapons ban caused more deaths than before.
Since I’m just 4, I had a hard time counting backward to figure out what year to put. Finally, I guessed 1927 was appropriate.

Ads for men who want to “Reclaim your Man Card” and arm their preschoolers have been met with yawns and outrage over deceptive marketing for future mass shootings.
My guess is these kids may be homeschooled using Bill Sherman’s Quiverfull female oppressive materials. A fan of the Constitution Party (United States) working to oppose a popular vote, this lovely chap and his group of influencers have been plagued with sexual assault claims.
When women are expected to be “breeders,” I get concerned. Amazon Prime series Shiny Happy People — Duggar family secrets sheds some light on the extreme right movement hoping to influence future generations.
Having a ban that controlled ownership made more people die? The leap between cause and effect seems to be missing a few hops and staggers. Digging deeper, it was revealed less than 10% of restricted gun owners registered them.
Plus, who needs an assault rifle when you can have an easily concealed 9-millimeter handgun with 100 rounds?
I remember now, hunters do. I like my meat pulverized too. It’s like finger food when you shoot a 6-point buck.
Think of it as charred venison sushi.
But hunting is sport and people aren’t supposed to be targets.
ABC News reports daily deaths from gun violence in 2023.
As of Oct. 26, at least 35,275 people have died from gun violence in the U.S. this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive — which is an average of almost 118 deaths each day.
Of those who died, 1,157 were teens and 246 were children.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m an excellent shot and like it. I love the feeling of power when holding a shiny I-can-end-you-with-a-spasm piece of metal.
When my serious body boss was a little kid, she wore a BB in her ass for quite a while. Compliments of her 7-year-old brother who wasn’t keeping an eye on just what was going over the fence. Or was he?
Living in rural Montana, it was practical to have a shotgun on hand when taking the garbage to the dump. Big bears scattered when the trash nearby suddenly jumped as a result of a loud bang. But 9 times out of 10 they kept their distance and Annie-get-your-gun moves weren’t justified.
Northern Idaho presented several reasons for keeping a six-shooter for self-defense — including threats from armed militia members. Those opposed to vintage handguns for untrained young chicks need to recognize the wokest words wouldn’t stop those manly men determined to exercise their own form of editing. They didn’t want hugs.
If we can’t control our impulse to fire off an angry tweet, should we really have access to weapons firing a hundred rounds per minute?
But had I not pawned the weapons before leaving the possessive ex, I’m certain he’d have shot me before letting me go.
Most mass shootings involve handguns rather than assault rifles. Large magazines for 9mm handguns can hold anywhere from 15 to 50 rounds of ammunition. It takes almost no time to switch magazines and reload.
I wonder how old the kids are when they’re allowed to drive the upset NRA official’s cars? Do they have to be in a good mood, or are tantrums and road rage just a variable to be worked through, like nasty cops, rude drivers, and black ice?
Is it responsible parenting to teach a tot to point and shoot a JR-15?

There’s a dispute over dropping the pacifier from the ad for preschooler assault weapons. Government overreach, censorship, or sanity?
While ‘red-flag’ laws may have prevented some deaths, the gun restrictions placed on high-risk individuals do not appear to be effective. Standard requirements and enforcement vary in the few states that have this early intervention program for those considered high-risk.
Those who grew up around guns, including myself and Kimberlee Jakobe, author of The Indescribable Sound of an AR-15, have a sensible understanding of when and where guns are safe to use, and by whom.
“Gun violence in America is a tax-supported self-inflicted wound.”
If you’ve read this far, the next time you hear of a mass shooting, care enough to make a phone call or send an email to your congressional representative.
Go to https://house.gov and enter your zip code to see who your contact is.
If you found this callous and offensive, I succeeded. Thoughts and prayers, care and concern are fleeting and haven’t effected change. As part human/part reptile, I see things the same way a selfish child might.
Neither of us understands why laws aren’t changed to protect us.
Thanks for reading.
