Another Geographic Guessing Game

After I had quite a decent response to my earlier invitation to guess where I was travelling during January this year, I thought it might be interesting to try it again.
A few days ago, I boarded an aeroplane towards the place where I am now, for the first time. It took a few hours, but then I could walk through this, one of the most impressive facilities that I’ve seen. Resembling a love match between a tropical jungle and a glamorous shopping centre, it’s actually …. an airport.

However, if you do recognise this place (and since you are Globetrotters, many of you have probably passed through it), this doesn’t help you with my current locality.
Having passed through that airport, I took off again, towards another one. And here’s a rather poor picture from the window of a taxi, while being transported to my destination hotel:

After a little over a day in meetings in the city, I was off to a rather different destination, just over an hour out of the city. I was actually working there, but cannot show you or tell you anything about that. Or, as the saying goes, I would have to kill you.
Let’s not do that, I need every reader that I can get.
I was working inside, but the scenery outside was much more impressive, reminding me somewhat of the years that I spent in West Africa. But there, I was usually in less glamorous accommodation.

The view from my bedroom window (or actually, the balcony) was also rather impressive.

The subject matter of the discussions in which I was participating might be interesting in my line of work, but probably not in yours. So I won’t bore you with that.
And in any case, I wouldn’t want to have to kill you, even if it would give me the opportunity to travel to your part of the world.
So, after breathing in that beautiful tropical air, and escaping from further dusty discussions, I got into a taxi and returned to the city.
Back here this afternoon, I had some more meetings, dodged the hectic traffic, and walked through a glamorous 5-storey shopping centre. In this temple to capitalism, every glossy brand you can imagine, is represented.
For dinner, I then had a decent enough schnitzel (accompanied by a good beer!) in my hotel. And took the following photograph from my hotel window:

Now, all you well-travelled Globetrotters, where oh where am I tonight?
Oh and if you missed my January stories, here are the links to the other clues to that trip:
