An Ode To Authenticity
Authentic people are passionate, content, carefree, calm, kind and helpful — and yet authentic people are still people…
Authenticity is a term and lifestyle that is dear to me. It is a path I am on personally. And on the way, I am driven to spreading seeds of it as much as I get the chance. Everyday brings me new insights and understanding into what it means to be real, to be whole, to be oneself unapologetically. My drive is motivated by my perspective of it as an empowering lifestyle to every human being. It is the best gift one can give to oneself and to the world as a by product. The more YOU you are, the more you can be genuine in the world, create authentic lasting healthy relationships and contribute to the society/environment in a sustainable way. I was born authentic (each of us was born so), then influenced by life events and multiple societies, I somehow started behaving, thinking a certain way that often went against my core values and beliefs in order to “fit in”. Awareness hitting the doorbell, I welcomed it and embraced it with open arms. It is the awareness and conscious gained through unpleasant experiences that is fueling my journey towards become a more authentic version of myself. A lifetime gift I “owe” to my soul.
Bellow an extract about authenticity from the book Minimalism by Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus.
It elaborates deeply what authenticity is and how authentic people are still humans and are flawed as the rest of the humanity. It reveals a certain level of human complexity that I found intriguing and real.
Enjoy the read.
Authentic person? — It’s a person that feels real to you. Genuine.
It’s refreshing to be around this person, to get to know this person, to interact with them.
We feel safe around authentic people, as if we could reveal to them our deepest, darkest secrets, as if we could trust them with anything.
And when we get to know these people on a deeper level — when we establish a connection with them — it’s refreshing to discover they are who we thought they were, that beneath the surface they are authentically themselves.
Authentic people have no agenda, and yet they have aspirations.
Authentic people are trustworthy, and yet sometimes they fall short.
Authentic people are awesome, and yet sometimes they are superficial.
Authentic people care enough to listen, and yet they don’t hear everything
Authentic people can weather the storm, and yet they get wet.
Authentic people are passionate, content, carefree, calm, kind and helpful — and yet authentic people are still people, they are human beings and thus they worry, possess doubt, and make mistakes and bad decisions.
Authentic people are fallible.
Authentic people are flawed.
Authentic people are fearful.
Authentic people are tempted by lust and greed — by all the trappings of this world.
None of us is perfect, but we all have the capacity to be authentic, to remove the pretense and the facade from our repertoire and just be authentically ourselves, not the people we think we’re supposed to be.

Thank you Trista Ainsworth and Kevin Buddaeus. Reading both your stories earlier today inspired me to write about the topic authenticity this evening. Keep on shining and spreading the good vibes.
Until next time, take good care my dear reader. Drink your water. Look up and observe the immensity of the universe. It’s beautiful and humbling.
One love 💜✨
