Am I An Alternative to Chat-GPT’s Fallacies?
I competed with Chat-GPT over human feelings.
Many believe that AI’s lack of self-consciousness and incapacity to experience emotions make them inferior to human beings. However, little did we know about AI’s capacity to discern genuine human emotions or to spot a person’s hidden sentiment.
I have imagined a world where AI could help detect bad feelings in humans. In some way, it could impact different fields positively, including medicine, psychology, and self-development. This would also mean they could judge and perhaps sanction us.
Up to that point, we are thinking about the future. But AI has progressed a lot these days. Their level of understanding could be more than what we assumed.
I am sure they could judge some of our works by utilizing a quite reasonable approach while also maintaining their objectivity, something not always reachable by human beings.
With that being said, I wonder if they know our sentiments. Additionally, I am concerned about AI’s genuine help in judging human emotions. As human inventions, they might also dispose of many dark strategies to make us feel bad. That’s why it’s important to discuss if they could spot our negative emotions and consequently use them to manipulate us.
AI knows us well
Discovering the worst human emotions has been the preoccupation of many people, including me. In a recent blog post, I discussed my worst feelings. I am currently curious to find out if most people had the same experiences as I had.
Who else could we ask if not an AI model? Without a question, they are the third party in this scenario. Therefore, I assume they are most able to view us impartially.
I am no specialist. And unfortunately, I cannot predict anyone’s beliefs… Some of you may believe that God or some spiritual forces or creatures could know our worst feelings better … I also believe that somewhat. However, this subject is more suitable for another essay. Isn’t it? Therefore, let’s use our AI assistance a bit for this experiment.
Given Chat-GPT’s accuracy over many things (including their limitations), I used that AI platform to directly ask, “What are the worst feelings a person could experience?” Guess what they said in response?
The worst emotions we’ve ever felt as humans, according to Chat-GPT
Here is Chat-GPT’s answer to my question:
As an AI language model, I don’t have personal experiences or emotions, but based on the information available to me, some of the worst feelings a person may experience include:
1. Grief: The deep sense of loss and sorrow that comes from losing someone or something important to you.
2. Depression: A persistent feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and lack of interest in activities that were once enjoyed.
3. Anxiety: Intense worry and fear that can interfere with daily activities and can be debilitating for some people.
4. Guilt: Feeling remorse or shame for something that you have done wrong or regretting a past action or decision.
5. Loneliness: A feeling of emptiness or isolation that can occur even when surrounded by others.
6. Betrayal: The feeling of being hurt or deceived by someone close to you, such as a friend or partner.
7. Helplessness: The feeling of being unable to control a situation or feeling powerless to change things.
8. Rejection: The feeling of being excluded or unwanted by others, which can lead to feelings of low self-worth.
9. Envy: Feeling jealous of someone else’s success or possessions, which can lead to negative self-comparison and dissatisfaction.
10. Shame: Feeling embarrassed or humiliated by something you have done, said, or experienced, which can lead to feelings of unworthiness or self-disgust.
My worst feelings
In my latest article, however, I mentioned the following feelings:
1. Guilty yet unable to solve the problem I caused;
2. People want to help me yet I’m helpless and unable to accept their support.
3. Being held responsible for a problem I foresaw
4. Making an individual’s or organization’s current issues worse
5. Failing to address a situation that is getting worse
6. Realizing I’ve forgotten something important but not being able to name what it is.
7. Putting others in danger unconsciously
8. Discovering that I misunderstood what I thought I understood
9. Experiencing sadness or distress over something I can’t even articulate
10. Being limited by what I view as pointless external influences
Given that I elaborated that list based on my personal experiences, it may not be the same for you. But the chat-GPT’s list should normally include most people’s worst feelings. Do they comprise yours? Can you relate to Chat GPT’s list? Which list, between mine and theirs, do you believe to be more accurate? Are they overlapping in any way?
