Summary

The text reflects on the paradoxical nature of human coexistence, where the collective pursuit of a better life leads to division, envy, and fear.

Abstract

The article "Together" delves into the complex dynamics of human relationships, highlighting the irony that despite our desire to unite and chase away fear, our actions often result in the opposite. It suggests that our attempts to possess and control life, metaphorically represented as a little girl, lead to violence, fear, and a destructive competition. While we may appear united on the surface, deep-seated envy and selfish desires to claim life as our own create internal strife. The text implies that our inability to share life's essence leads to a paradox where joy becomes hollow and life becomes more chaotic, ultimately fostering the very fears we seek to escape.

Opinions

  • The author believes that our collective actions, driven by a desire to secure life's joys, inadvertently create a cycle of fear and violence.
  • There is a sense of irony in how we celebrate together but harbor hatred because we each want to claim ownership over life's experiences.
  • The metaphor of life as a little girl that we all wish to possess suggests a critique of possessiveness and the human tendency to covet what is inherently shared.
  • The text conveys a pessimistic view

Together

We want to get her

Together we were To chase away fear Divided we become As fear invades everyone’s dreams

We become violent for love but afraid of losing life We sacrifice to survive Kill to live and hate more to progress

We guess life is this little girl That we wish to possess Despite she is always for us all We still want to chase her

We think we were together We only become strong to get her But evil, for one another And envious we still are of her

As we party and smile together We hate one another Because she is part of us all While each one wants her to be only theirs

Since we can’t survive without her We make joy tinier And life, messier than ever

Together we are dreaming about fear Wishing life wasn’t fearful But creating even more fears As we fight to get her
