All Hopes Are Allowed
Have a lovely weekend! ✨

Dear Reader,
If you are fond of what I write outside of this newsletter, you have probably read the story I published on September 26 with its slightly provocative title. It felt delicious to write it, and I’m glad because it provides interesting feedback and makes readers wonder. If you haven’t read it yet, I don’t think you’ll waste your time finding out.
It also reinforces to me that there are a lot of beautiful souls here on Medium who share the same love for writing and deep stories before they want to get as rich as Uncle Scrooge. I didn’t doubt it for a second, but some writers I didn’t know about gave voice in response to this story, giving even more hope for what we can continue to read on the platform. So let’s keep supporting and reading the truly worthwhile writers who are obsessed with writing unique and meaningful stories from their hearts.
This week on Scribe, we were once again able to follow Sofia Isabel Kavlin’s adventures in New York, the city that never sleeps. If you still doubt it, humanity still exists in this crazy world.
Then Caroline Mellor offered us a story that could be the ground for a novel in the making. We discover the thoughts of a woman walking through the streets of Granada, the Spanish capital of the province of Granada in southeast Andalusia. Here is a passage: “She looks closer and sees that the tree bark is speckled with drops of sparkling amber: sap or resin, the joy and despair of the world crystallised in the slow tears of a tree.”
Artemis Sullivan crafted a masterful poem to be savored in one sitting without stopping. I might venture to say that this is one of the most beautiful and powerful odes to women in recent years on Scribe. Poetry can sometimes be interpreted in a thousand ways. I hope I’m not wrong here! I know, I often give praise when my heart is touched. Artemis is a great voice and I am so honored to publish some of her great poems.
All the pieces I just mentioned are to be found in the weekly digest just after, with the other gems of the last few days, as you are used to.
Have a lovely weekend, and thank you for making this publication so unique! Thomas
