Adolf Hitler Poisoned His Own Beloved Dog, Blondi
Hitler’s creepy relationship with ‘almost human’ dog.
Compassion is a word that didn’t exist in Hitler’s dictionary, and one of many examples is when Hitler knew he had lost the war and that he didn’t have any choice other than to take his own life.
In April 1945, Hitler knew he had lost the war. With Allied Forces moving ever closer to Berlin, Adolf Hitler didn’t have many options other than two.
Firstly, he either had to surrender to be held accountable for the crimes he had committed, or secondly to take the most extreme step of ending his own life — we all know which one he chose.
However, before ending his own life, he did something that would also be a part of his grim history.
Before consuming the capsules himself, he gave them to his dog to check the potency of the poison (cyanide) given to him by Himmler.
Yup… you read that right. On the 30th of April 1945, he ended his dog’s life before his own. Blondie was the name of the dog gifted to him in 1941.
Hitler raised this German Shepherd puppy himself and was also a part of his propaganda, in which he was used to portraying himself as an animal lover.
There are many videos of both Hitler and Blondi in which they are having a good time, playing and doing the stuff that people who love their dogs do together.
Furthermore, it was not only Blondie that had to be sacrificed before his demise. Blondi’s puppies and his wife, Eva Braun’s dog, were also taken outside and put to rest.
Blondi Was The Key Propaganda Tool Of Adolf Hitler
Blondi was a gift from the head of the Nazi party Martin Bormann to Adolf Hitler. The pup being a German shepherd, the dog was knowledgeable and friendly towards Hitler and other family members.
The pup was the only canine that Hitler ever had, and she was one of Hitler’s most beloved living beings.
The bond between both can be seen in the videos released by Hitler’s regime. In these videos, Hitler can be seen playing with the Blondi, feeding her, petting and doing all the usual owner & dog things.
However, these videos and images of Hitler with his dog were used for much more grim purposes. They were released into the press media as a part of their propaganda scheme to portray a softer side of the regime.
However, most historians still believe that Hitler did love animals, and he didn’t spend time with them just for the pictures to be used for his sinister plan.
Blondi Went With Hitler And His Family Into The Führerbunker
Führerbunker was built purposefully by Adolf Hitler. The bunker’s construction began in 1936 when there were no signs of a The bunker was built 30 feet underground and completed in 1944.
The bunker was furnished with expensive rugs, art, and everything that made it feel like home. The purpose of this bunker was to provide shelter for the key members of the Third Reich, including the supreme commander Hitler and his family.
Hitler and Eva went into the Führerbunker on the 16th of January 1945, along with some German officials and the VIP dog Blondi.
Hitler was used to going at the Reich Chancellery building with his dog to attend meetings.
However, when air raids increased, he was used to staying in the bunker, and it is believed that he remained in the bunker for about 105 days.
During his visits to the Chancellery garden, he was always accompanied by his loyal companion Blondi. She was brought up on purpose by Hitler so that she could enjoy some time in the sunlight, in the open space of the garden.
Blondi’s life in the bunker wasn’t bad either, and she was used to getting all sorts of special treatment because everyone knew that Hitler loved her. I hope you get the point here about why that happened.
The dog was so close to Führer that she was used to sleep in his bed at night, which was not appreciated by Hitler’s secretary at the time Eva Braun.
A dog is man’s best companion. This saying can be seen in the case of Blondi, the dog who preferred to live and die beside the man whom she followed and obeyed since her puppyhood.
Capsules of cyanide killed Blondi by Adolf Hitler himself, and it is reported that Hitler was distraught after the passing away of his beloved dog, Blondi.
