A Wish Granted with Sourdough

A simple musing in my head brought surprises

Photo by Monika Grabkowska on Unsplash

Some days it feels like wishes are swirling all around me, like a windfall of love. I can get lost in the joys of wishing and dreaming, just as I did so many years ago. It is like this ability to hope has come back to me, and I am so grateful for its return. On my 100-day journey of studying abundance, this is a welcome occurrence.

A few days ago, I was thinking to myself how wonderful it would be to find a sourdough bakery closer to our home. There is one a half-hour away, and they make delicious bread, but its distance causes us to not frequent it quite as much as we would like. Out of the blue, my friend Lynn texted me to tell me about a local baker named Jordan, who bakes sourdough out of his home. It turns out he lives very close to us. She was able to order a loaf for me and would bring it by the following week!

Last night a fresh from the oven loaf arrived at our doorstep. This beautiful and delicious bread wrapped simply in a large paper bag was there for our delight. Right before dinner, we cut open our prized sourdough. It was a giant dome of fluffy goodness with a lovely sour flavor, and it had a crispy crust. It was pure joy! We all exclaimed it was the best sourdough we had ever tasted.

Your mantra is thank you. Just keep saying thank you. Don’t explain. Don’t complain. Just say thank you. Say thank you to existence. -Mooji

This slice of heaven made of bread is proof of the miracles of the universe. When we have a joy for life and say thank you for the abundance all around us, we will encounter evidence of the beauty of prayers and wishes. Every day I find another piece of the divine puzzle of life. Putting it together is easy. It just requires that you trust and focus on joy.

My prayer and my intention for you today is that you find your ability to dream, wish, hope, and pray for the best outcomes. It really is something that is within our power if we trust and believe. We can create out of our imaginations, and we are here to make a world of harmony and abundance.
