A Wave of Good Wishes

Today is my birthday and I am grateful

I woke up today, and as my feet touched the ground, I said: “Today is going to be a great day.” It’s true, it’s my birthday! However, I have decided every day is going to be great, not just today. This wave of joy, happiness, and love needs to spread from today onward. It is the perfect day to explore abundance, as so much love has already started to pour in. On my 100-day journey studying abundance, I am exploring the book The Tao of Abundance: Eight Ancient Principles for Abundant Living by Laurence G. Boldt.

The free flow of life energy brings spiritual, emotional, physical, even financial health. When the energy is flowing freely in your life, you give freely and without hesitation of yourself, your love, and your inborn gifts. The energy you put out returns to you, a rich and plentiful harvest of the seeds you have sown. -Laurence G. Boldt

Every day I am finding new ways to make the best use of the life energy flowing in me. These past few months have allowed me to grow and nurture lots of friendships. Somehow I feel that I now know my closest friends better than I did last year. We have navigated together all of the obstacles that this year has put on our paths. Today is a day to celebrate those friendships and relationships we hold so dear.

The wave of positive energy started off yesterday with my dear cousin dropping off a gift on my doorstep. I waved at her through the window, and we chatted for a couple of minutes through the screen. It gave me so much joy to see her; that was the real gift.

Later on, I got another text. This time my dear friend Diana was going to stop by with a gift! I hadn’t seen her for months; the last time was in the spring when she stopped by for a brief moment on my porch to drop off something. It was so beautiful to see her, if only for a few moments. We have kept in touch with weekly texts and some video calls.

Last week I was able to take a social-distant walk and have coffee outdoors with my dear friend Lynn who lives locally. She is such a beautiful soul. We have kept each other’s spirits up by dropping off little tea samples, exchanging texts about new restaurants with takeout, and more.

A few days earlier, I received lovely packages with gifts from loved ones that made my day! Their wishes of love and togetherness were all wrapped up within the cardboard confines of the boxes and bags. Letters were written on paper with care, and a handmade card to top off the sweetness.

Last Sunday was a special meeting with my dear friend Carol who I had not seen since celebrating her birthday with brunch in January. We sat at opposite tables in our backyard, bundled up with blankets in the wind. Laughing and chatting over pastries and coffee from the bakery down the street, we reconnected and grew our friendship. She gifted me with a beautiful sign that says: Tis the Season to be Thankful.

As an abundance of messages and well wishes flow in today, I am grateful for all of the amazing people in my life. We think of each other every day. The prayers and thoughts sent over the miles ease the burdens of our days.

Tonight I will celebrate with my husband and son with a special takeout dinner. We will enjoy this moment. We are all here today. We are healthy, and we have joy in our hearts. That is the kind of abundance I am most grateful for.

My prayer and my intention for you today is that you think about the relationships in your life. Those are a part of your abundant life. Friendships, romantic relationships, partnerships, family, they are all here to keep our life flowing.

Day #9: What relationships are most important for you to cultivate today?
