A Thought: The Point of Education
Daily Dose of Philosophy
The exercise of passing down knowledge is an ancient practice, one not limited just to us. It is for us to remember that all living things have lessons to teach.

The immortality of passing down knowledge is an intoxicating act.
The thoughts of one can shape the thoughts of another. The power that they hold is to be respected, for they hold the keys for our future. But this swings both ways, the student teaches the master as much as the master teaches the student.
We never reach the limit of what we know and to think otherwise is just folie. It is the duty of those that think to seek an understanding of everything. Those that know, it is their duty to pass on what they know.
The practice of passing down knowledge is not nor should not be only in the realms of scholars, but of all. All creatures can teach us, all events have a lesson to show. It is on us to pay attention and learn.
To teach is not merely an act of passing down knowledge from one to another, it is far more. To teach is to be a guide to the misguided, to give them a grasp of the way of things. For all that educate, have a responsibility to those that listen.
Be humble, for you know less than you think. Be respectful, for you have been where the student is. Be diligent, for you hold the future to those that listen. Be kind, for each of us is different. Be as you say, for action comes by doing. Be patient, for things are seen in differing shades of light. Be open, for there are many ways to reach a goal. Be truthful, for lies curry no hold.
And most importantly, understand the balance of things; the Spoken, the shown, the guided and the left alone.
Whether you know or you do not, all actions that you part take in, show a lesson to those that see and listen. The way you show the way others can be. It is your duty and responsibility to be the best that you can be, for those that seek an understanding of whom to be.
