A Thought: The Worth of a U-Turn

Daily Dose of Philosophy

What a magical ability we all have — to think, a skill that has few equals and a skill we all share.

To take a U-turn

The act of taking U-turns demonstrates an understanding of ill-doing. To partake in a U-turn is to amend for the wrong turn taken and therefore, whether willing or not, you admit to said wrong. In all understanding, this would be a wise thing to do, as you are seeking to correct a wrong.

The issue arises when the wrong done, is a wrong not admitted to. In not admitting to the wrong, you try to hide from it, as though it had not been so. There is little benefit of engaging in this way, as only your ego is spared, to a point anyway.

It is always wise to learn from the why; for why is the reason for that which I have done? The reason that is discovered, is the lesson needed to be learnt. So, feel no shame in taking a U-turn, for only your ego is hurt, but in turn what you gain, is greater than your hurt.

The uptake of U-turns being taken of late has risen. We live in uncertain times; we know not of what will be or why it is. We look to our leaders for the answers, but we are met with blunders. Though blunders can be forgiven if they are rare.

But to hide the wrong done under the veil of certainty hurts our society. And that may not be forgiven nor should it be. Our leaders of late, U-turn at every turn taken and shy away as for the reason why. Leaving us in a state of darkness, having to find our own way.

I ask you this; should we be led by those that are blind to the dangers ahead?

Though we live in strange times, it is important to remember that ‘we!’ all share in these times. Only in the act of acknowledging the wrong and learning from the lessons shown. Will we find our route home.
