Two years ago today, my writing buddy Posy and I launched our first Medium publication. In celebration, I thought I’d publish a short birthday chat…
Looking back, we were either brave or foolish as we didn’t have hardly any Medium experience and have since found out that so many magazines on this platform fall by the wayside. It is hard work keeping up with a successful publication — doing it for the love, as there certainly isn’t any money in it — though perhaps the CEO Coach Tony, has other ideas for the future. I read recently that he plans to support the magazines by boosting them in some way.
I think Posy and me are a good team. She is the friendly face of Tantalizing Tales, and I am the slightly sterner business one. If you want to know the publication statistics and such like, check out my end-of-year post.
Writers & Format
In the beginning, when deciding to choose a format for Tantalizing Tales, we looked at other publications and felt that Rose MyErotica had got it sussed. Putting out only two stories a day, clapping for each one and sharing on Twitter. Everyone had their moment in the spotlight. We followed her example and along the way created a tantalizing community that we adore.

And also thanks to our newer writers who seem to be enjoying the Tantalizing experience while creating on-brand fiction. So many of the writers above really do get into the tantalizing vibe and write excellently crafted stories where sex is part of a wider, beguiling plot. Often with a supernatural element or dark twists and turns.
At Tantalizing Tales, it seems we have one foot in sexy shenanigans and the other in general fiction. Our most successful stories have some erotic content and an enticing plot.
Although we do receive and are happy to publish pure erotica, there are many other publications that specialize in this genre. I can only vouch for the ones I know, and also those I like because they seem to possess the mindset of running a magazine geared toward supporting the writers and their stories.

Teaser Tales: Marie, Posy and I started another publication last November for teaser flashes. Short stories to tease the audience, finishing with a link to an older, long story which is at the heart of the teaser tale. It took off like a rocket.
