A Poem and A Reflection

A Tale of Two Sunsets

So different yet so similar

A Jamaican sunset by Summer Scott

I know you, You’ve blessed me and enlightened me to the wonders of the world, You’ve soothed me from my pain and calmed a ever racing anxious mind.

I was taught to know you though, Those elder to me showed me your beauty. But I never paid attention, Too busy with tiny responsibilities, The intricacies of a growing mind too loud, too pressing to give an acknowledgement.

Then I grew, And I cried. And in the moment of those tears I saw you, And you comforted me.

I began to seek you out, During the ending softness of the day, I would meet you I would enjoy you.

And then I had to leave you and I cried again, A tiny melancholy settled into me as I hoped and longed to meet you again.

An Albertan Sunset by Summer Scott

But instead you found me, and I smiled.

My mother loves sunsets, she takes pictures of them every time she gets and being that we live by both the sea and the mountains, she has quite the view. I found my love for them because of her and they will always be a place of comfort while I’m away from her.

Thank you all for reading even if it is just one of you. I would really appreciate if you clapped and left a comment. I really do appreciate the engagement. If you enjoy my work please consider reading my other works linked below.
