A Poem and A Reflection
Anti
You are not as you seem.
Are you good or are you evil? Charitable or self-serving? You’ve done so much yet none at all. Not enough for me not to see who you really are.
You’re greedy. So reckless, you know not when to quit. Your actions seems so heroic yet with an always bitter twist.
With one saved ten die, Oh, how they cheer your name. You have stopped the robbing of the fortune, but they did not see you pocket the change.
I know who you really are, You white knight of ill intent. Even though you have everyone else fooled, This game isn’t over yet.
This poem is another one from my teenage years,(I say that like I’m 31 and not just 21). I’d like to think that the girl from those tumultuous years is long gone but the scars she left behind are still rearing the ugly head of many a trait I wish to be rid of. This poem was me reconciling with the fact that I was the bad guy in many people's stories and even though I have changed, that maybe the view many people still have of me. It is a bitter pill to swallow.
