Your Apathy

Is there truly nothing for you to give?

Photo by Marcus P. on Unsplash

Do you really have nothing to say, To my pain, to my tears. Have I come running to a cold embrace once again, With nothing to show for it but disappointment and regret.

May it pays to be cold and unfeeling, Instead of fighting on pitifully like a dying fuse. Maybe I should remain closed off and muted if only to have my soft vulnerability refused.

Instead I’ll be aloof to your pain and suffering since my efforts have all been for naught. Since I can’t run to you for empathy, I’ll let your apathy burn us at a cross.

I hope it isn’t far-fetched to say, that not having you’re emotions validated by someone who you care about and who you think should care about you. It is a genuinely painful experience to actively think that someone important to you actively doesn’t care about you, your emotions and how they affect those emotions on a day to day.

Thank you all for reading even if it is just one of you. I would really appreciate if you left a clap or two along with a comment. I really do appreciate the engagement. If you enjoy my work please consider reading my other works linked below.
