A Letter to Remind Myself Not To F*8ck Up
I love my awakened life and do not want to slip back into self-sabotaging patterns (please don’t forget to ask for help either)

It is important I remind myself from time to time not to slip back into my old self-sabotaging patterns of people-pleasing and living in a dimly lit subconscious world. I love my awakened life where I feel empowered and free. So, I am writing a letter to myself that I can read on days when I am tired and weary and feel weakened by the requests and demands of life.

Dear Alternate Me,
You have broken your self-limiting patterns and awakened to a higher state of consciousness. You have a limitless vision for your future that is bright and abundant. It is full of love, a bounty of career opportunities, travel, and good health. You are raising two responsible young adults who are bright and witty all on your own.
You no longer must fit into any type of box to please people. You have destroyed their concept of the box and instead taught them that you can dance in the upward spiral endlessly each time around becoming someone new if you so choose.
“Nobody is superior, nobody is inferior, but nobody is equal either. People are simply unique, incomparable. You are you, I am I.” Osho
Embrace Yourself
Love your naked skin in the morning and accept your body the way that it is. Wear the yoga pants at noon, the jean shorts at four, and the cocktail dress at seven if you so choose. It is not strange to wear so many outfits. Shed and grow skins all day long my love. It is YOU. Have fun playing so many roles and enjoy so many styles all in one day. You can be Bo-ho chic on Tuesday and Modern L.A. on Wednesday. Why not? Life is too short not to enjoy it. Yes, you have an uncommon and self-reliant persona. Not many people stand out and have as unique of a style as you, but that's a good thing. Wear your pajamas or sweats the next day if you want to girl. There are no rules in this game called life.
Wake up each day and do the best you can. Be a bit better than you were yesterday. Do something kind for someone else. Smile at strangers and always be kind.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Mahatma Gandhi
Rock Multiple Personalities
It is OK to have more than one personality in the way that you do. Be the calm yoga instructor and levelheaded coach during the day. Rock the Indy punk music and wine at night. You do not always have to remain calm. Go out until all hours on the weekend, but then go to bed like a librarian during the week. It is way more than OK if other people perceive that as strange — it’s wonderful. You have got this. No one else must understand any other facet of you and yet everyone loves you. Listen to country music one minute and pop the next, classical as you write and rock as you clean. You need no one’s approval. No one else walks in your flip-flops, nor dances in your three-inch heels. You are one level-headed person at your core center and the rest is all just in the details.
It is part of what makes you, YOU.
Never give up being your unique quirky self.
But do not forget your loved ones enjoy supporting you in your times of need. It makes them feel appreciated when you lean into them and use them as a power supply when your own is low. They so often look to you for advice, after all, it is fair in return. True love is a mutual give and take and always an empathetic understanding.
