I strive to live in a constant state of gratitude. I was never one to say grace over every meal as I grew up but now I say grace over my life every day.

I thank God for waking me up.

I thank God for his traveling mercies and protection before I get into my vehicle.

I thank God for watching over me and my health.

I thank God for sending his son Jesus to save me.

Throughout the day I speak out loud small prayers of thanks for God’s grace in my life.

Psychology Today reports that gratitude can improve physical and psychological health.

It is hard to focus on the things that I lack when I am in a state of gratitude. There will always be things I may need or want. I thank God for providing for all my needs. I declare my gratitude for God’s will to allow or not allow me to receive my wants. I trust in his judgement.

Life is a blessing and I am thankful for every moment I am given.

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV) 16 Rejoice always,17 pray continually,18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
