Brotherly Love Is Compassion

Love thy neighbor.

Most of my neighbors are strangers to me. I don’t even know the names of the ones I speak with sporadically. We are just the type of neighbors that coexist in our own bubbles. We don’t know each other but we will always come to each other’s aid if a need arose.

When we see small children falling off the monkey bars and bleeding at the park, we tend to them as if they are our own. When a car battery dies and a neighbor needs a jump in the morning, everyone lends a hand. We have compassion for our neighbors even though we are strangers.

Compassion

Compassion is having concern for the sufferings or well being of others. We care about what happens to other people. That’s what makes us special as humans. We feel emotions that connect us to people we don’t even know. A simple smile or a wave hello is all it takes to connect. Small gestures of kindness are underrated. It doesn’t take much to show that you care about those around you. Let’s connect.
