A Day with The Flowerman
Flowers of Joy

This is me getting back from hiking at Shivapuri National park. I don’t know the flower's name behind me, but I had to take a picture because why not! :D
Flowers add beauty to life. They remind us that life is full of joy and you must smile more often.
Hence, you can see me smiling from ear to ear.
Flower often reminds me of Fulkumar(translated as a flowerman).
I met Fulkumar last year, and it didn’t take long to become friends. We both shared a love for poetry and nature. Fulkumar has also published a book called “Fulkumar and his poems.”

Recently, Fulkumar, I and a few of our other friends went hiking. It was great. Here’s one of the pictures from the hike.

When I first read fulkumar’s poetry, I immediately knew we would be close friends.
I could resonate with many of his poems, which talked about the darker sides of life, nature, loss, recovery and pushing through hardships.
I’ve never asked Fulkumar why he started to take pictures of flowers or how his name came to be fulkumar, but I assume it's because of his love for nature and flowers.

Before writing this article, I had never given much thought to flowers. However, now that I think about it, flower adds beauty to life. It makes life more cheerful and pleasant, filling it with love and beauty.
This picture above was taken while we were heading down from the hike. We saw this wall full of flowers and decided to snap some photographs.
It fascinates me how we humans use flowers for multiple different occasions all over the globe. Flowers possess the ability to bring people together. I’ve often seen people appreciating flowers together or using flowers as a sign of welcome, goodbye, love and loss.
Flowers invoke human connection and represent our connection with the world around us. There seems to be something almost spiritual and sacred about flowers.
Flowers also make everything look beautiful. It brings out the joy of nature and adds more colour and life around us.
This year, I want to plant more flowers, take pictures of flowers and celebrate flowers and plants around me. I want to feel inspired by flowers and write more about them, how they touched my life, and how they moved me. After all, It’s one of the little joys in life.
Here’s a short poem I wrote for Flowers:
Flowers of Life
You teach us each day
The lessons of impermanence
The meaning of change
How everything is still
Yet passing by
