DRABBLE STORY ARC #1: UNTIL LUCK RUNS OUT
Sweet Break for Death
A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — drabble edition!

This is a continuation of You Are Dead, a Choose Your Own Adventure Story — Drabble Edition started by Bradan Writes Stories. Find out how to contribute here, or return to the previous chapter: “Life As a Lizard-Village Guitar God” by JF Danskin.
“Man,” you say to Death, “you got me. But hey — this lizard village is cool. Take a break. Enjoy some gekkota stew.”
Death grins.
Anger, mirth or boredom?
“I could do with a drink,” he says at last, while an alligator-pet licks his bony hands. He strokes its snout. “Why rush my victory?”
You sit with Death and share a bottle of wine and a game of chess. He wins. Then you play guitar, and everyone claps — including Death.
Days pass. What starts as a ruse gives way to friendship.
Death is made welcome by your fans.
His scythe rusts.
The End.
This story arc is nearly complete… and we finally got that game of chess!
There are plenty more stories to write. Come join us at Choose Your Own Adventure–Collaboration to contribute, or check out the ones below that are still ongoing.
