8 Dating Trends That Will Become Normal in 10 Years
Number 2 isn’t my favorite.

It’s a messed up world.
Many dating trends aren’t good for your mental health. Yet, most will become the norm. I hope the few that have a good benefit get accepted as well.
One-night stands are an expectation on first dates. Even though this sexy time has its advantages, I’m sure your grandma won’t approve.
You and your therapist will talk about these eight (8) dating trends more often in a decade. Let's start the discussion early.
The Bad
#1. Gaslight
Communication is poor in many relationships.
Many young couples don’t know how to have tough conversations. One person will have an experience. Meanwhile, the other has another point of view on the situation.
In such a case, the gaslighting is innocent because of a misunderstanding. They need to talk to get on the same page.
Other times, gaslighting is not innocent. Instead, it is a way to cause emotional abuse and manipulate the other person. They want the victim to question their beliefs and perception of reality.
#2. Excessive PDA
This trend is not my favorite.
Why do power couples kiss so freaky on red carpets? What is wrong with a peck on the cheek or lips? Are you open to showing affection?
You may not like it. But many people are about to hop on the trend. Look at the effect Rihanna had on the look of maternity style. 68% of people surveyed said they are here for this new PDA culture.
Warning: If you adopt this culture, be careful when traveling. You might offend local citizens.

#3. Orbiting
Social media is not only a hub where people stalk each other.
They now do worse actions toward each other, like orbiting. Why is this dating trend negative? It stops you from forgetting about your ex or dates who have ghosted you.
Orbiting is when the person breaks direct contact. But they still engage with your social media content. The person doesn’t even care if they leave evidence of their presence behind. It is best to block these people.
A person should respect the breakup. Here is a way to stop stalking your ex:
#4. Cloaking
Cloaking is when someone stands you up online.
This dating trend is worse than someone being a no-show to a date. You chat with the person. Everything feels good. So, you hope to see them in person and ask them on a date.
In response, the person runs off faster than a Ferrari down an empty highway. They block you on every app. They never to speak to you again. It’s like they put on an invisibility cloak.

#6. Cushioning
Cushioning is cheating. But your side piece is unaware of what is happening.
You string people along in case your current relationship does not work out. It hurts your partner plus the person you string along. It is selfish. Being alone can be a pleasant experience.
#6. Kittenfishing
It is a light form of catfishing. You are honest about your face and identity. But you lie about your lifestyle.
Thus, you take photos beside people’s cars. Use fake backgrounds when on video. Or pretend to be rich or fake an accent.
The Good
#7. Dry dating
Most gatherings get set around a dinner table.
I thought I could not escape the habit of eating or drinking alcohol on a date. But the pandemic has opened the eyes of many to the possibility.
In a post-pandemic world, people will break away from this culture. Dry dating is about getting to know each other without alcohol being present. I am a social drinker. Thus, this trend removes the need to fit in and keeps lightweight drinkers safe.
#8. Sex fast
The chemistry between a couple gets overrated. Arranged marriages prove you can grow to love someone. Fading sparks show nothing lasts forever.
Communication and respecting someone’s love language are the essential element of lasting relationships.
Sex fasts remind couples to find new ways to appreciate each other. This period allows your attraction to intensify. The PDA-filled days of Kourtney and Travis weeks before their wedding proved it.
