7 Photos/7 Days, II
Photo Challenge

Big thanks again to Dennett of Weeds & Wildflowers for this inspiring and fun photo challenge!
I’m paraphrasing Dennett here; please see the link above for more details:
Take a photo a day. Use a one-word description for your photos. Slow down and be more aware of your surroundings!
I take a different hiking trail every day and this photo challenge has allowed me to embrace nature in a different way.
I love finding beauty in death and decay. Especially here in the high desert. It can be harsh and barren.

The plants and the land are all changing with the fall season. These wispy tendrils were beautiful up close.

Bringing my phone with me and taking photos along the way has made me really slow down and appreciate what I see around me.

There is such beauty in it all. The sky in New Mexico never disappoints. Plus I had this trail all to myself.

I almost got caught in a storm another day. I could see these dark clouds gathering. Did I turn back? No! I hiked in the moodiness and returned to my car just as the sky opened up and let out a downpour.

Yesterday I drove up a bit into the mountains. It’s amazing how much the scenery changes with the altitude and mountain climate. I hit the Aspen Vista trail to see the explosion of leaves changing color.

Often when I’m hiking, I wonder if I will just disappear into the mist…
Well, for today, I made it back home.
And what about you, what did you see this week? Mia Verita, Lisa Bolin, Pablo Pereyra. And anyone else who wants to jump in!
Thank you for reading! More of my stuff here:
