6 Paris-Proven Qualities to Be Terribly Attractive
Why Paris is an attractive city, and how you can use its qualities to be as attractive.

I used to believe that Paris is beautiful because it’s the city of love, the same way a Vanessa will always be more attractive than a Laura. It’s just meant to be that way.
But I was wrong. A city or a person cannot be attractive just because.
Some might have a little of an advantage in terms of origin. But studying one of the most attractive cities in the world has led me to a discovery.
The secret to being attractive is more about knowing what is attractive in the humans’ eyes and making those qualities authentically yours.
So, with the help of The School of Life, I learned 6 qualities that attract us to Paris. Lucky for us, we can apply the same qualities that make people lust for Paris and make ourselves one hell of an attractive human.
Not too chaotic, not too ordered.
We find Paris attractive because of its organized complexity.
You can see it very clearly if you walk along Paris’ famous streets like Champs-Elysées or Rue de Rivoli.
Humans are complex. We find too much chaos unpleasant and too much order dull. Therefore, we find a balance of both as attractive, and fortunately for Paris, they do it very well.
Paris’ buildings more or less have the same height and width, especially if they are in the same area, which creates order.
However, the freedom to decorate the buildings as they wanted gives enough touch of chaos.
The differences in similarities make Paris satisfying to look at.
How you can do it:
You need to have a balance of rigidity and flexibility.
If you’re a clean person, that’s good. But being obsessive about it will drive people nuts.
This is also why you love your partners for being able to dress beautifully or handsomely. But you really love it when they can show you their bed hair while wearing the oldest but most comfortable sweats they own.
It’s clear that there is life.
Humans are attracted to streets or paintings that are alive. That’s why we find it eerie when quarantine happened, and all the streets were empty and cold.
Paris understood this, and the French cafe culture plays a huge role in showing that there’s life in Paris.
Rue Cler is a good example. Their streets are full of cafes, restaurants, boulangerie, shops, and most importantly, people.
The busyness of the establishments combined with the different activities all the people are doing, charm outsiders.
How you can do it:
One of the lecturers in my university always tells me to try everything at least once. Why? Because as cliché as it is, you do only live once.
You might think that you’ll like or hate an activity, but you’ll never know until you stop watching them on YouTube and do it yourself.
Someone who experienced life first-hand is always more attractive than those who live vicariously through someone else.
Compact but not overwhelming.
If you look at Paris from a bird’s eye view, the city seems attractive because of how packed it is. The buildings are not 100 meters apart from each other, but at the same time, it has a lot of beautiful squares like Arc de Triomphe or Place de la Concorde.
The balance of closeness and space creates attraction:
· Individual buildings give enough privacy.
· The closeness of each building brings a sense of belonging and liveliness.
· The squares offer a great hang-out place, whether with friends or alone.
Moderately sized squares are especially important because it serves as a public space, but is still intimate to feel the vibe of being surrounded by other people.
How you can do it:
You have to know when to give space.
As Zulie Rane stated in one of her articles, being present and vulnerable is attractive but sometimes space is also attractive as it “signals self-security.”
Oriented with a hint of mystery.
Now, we all know that the Eiffel Tower and Musée du Louvre is a must-visit. But the hidden parts of Paris are what make the city even more attractive.
The roads in Paris are oriented, but they know the importance of having interconnected backstreets. There is something wonderful about walking around small streets without having a clear direction.
The unknown creates excitement.
The feeling of finding a cute cafe while roaming through the alleys is a hundred times better than purposely finding one.
How you can do it:
People love mystery and they also love to talk about themselves. Use this to your advantage.
When talking to someone, always have the topic of conversation focus away from you. Ask them questions you genuinely want to know about, and listen to their answers.
After talking about themselves for a while, they’ll start wondering about your stories.
Once they start asking you questions, it’s time for you to answer. Make sure they’re satisfied with your reply, but don’t forget to leave some tiny gaps in the stories sometimes.
A story with an open-ending always leaves you wanting more after all.
Having materials are at the bottom of your priorities.
Unlike cities that are not as attractive, Paris is not drowned in skyscrapers worshipping shoes or any luxurious brand. Most of their buildings are equal, they’re not too tall nor they are too short.
They know that when a structure or a building stand out, it has to be meaningful for the people.
Eiffel tower is a must-visit because it has been the symbol of Paris for more than a century. It has also become a symbol of love for many.
While Musée du Louvre holds many important masterpieces that are dear to the country.
Both of them look grandiose as they hold the people’s sentiment.
How you can do it:
People tend to put earning money as their number one priority. They’ll ramble, saying that once they have enough money, then they’ll start looking for love, or that they’ll find happiness.
Of course, money is essential for survival, but people who value their relationships with others more than materials are undeniably more attractive.
It comes down to being authentic.
Paris architectural style is iconic. No other cities have the same Haussmann style architectures that are made out of sandstone.
The roofs are also angled a certain way along with the other elements that should be present as the windows and balconies.
They’re keeping their authenticity even when other famous cities are starting to incorporate closed off, shiny skyscrapers.
How you can do it:
Be authentically you. Don’t try to be someone else.
Imagine if Paris tried copying New York to look more modern, what’s the point of visiting it anymore when there are a bunch of cities with skyscrapers already?
It’s hard to think that we can be attractive especially when the media keeps on dictating us on what is considered attractive, mainly on the physical side of the spectrum.
But you’ll find through the 6 mentioned qualities that being attractive is not as difficult as our minds conjured it to be.
It all comes down to your ability to have a balance in life along with your appreciation or respect towards yourself and others.
