6 Best Places to Cross-Post your Blog Content

A complete list of the best places to cross-post your blog content to increase website traffic

So you’ve started a blog, you’ve written a few articles, and you’re ready to start getting some traffic. You’ve read the same advice over and over again:

“Be active on social media, start building an email list, consider running Facebook ads, find forums in your niche”

This is all good advice, don’t get me wrong, but you’ve undoubtedly tried them all before and there are plenty of other options, one of which is cross-posting your content.

Cross-posting your content is super simple, you just need to find the articles you want to republish, then go to corresponding websites that will allow you to submit your content.

So in this article, I’m going to share what are in my opinion the 10 best places for you to cross-post your content, some of which are niche-specific and some that are open to everything!

Tumblr

Founded in 2007, this cross between a blogging platform and a social network is one of the most visited websites on the internet, with a round 300M unique visitors worldwide as of September.

Once you’ve set up a Tumblr page for your blog, you can then cross-post your content and link back to your website, or directly post links to your posts.

Tumblr has pages about almost every niche, so you’ll have no problem finding your place!

Hackernoon

Hackernoon is definitely one of my favourite places to cross-post content. Covering everything from technology to programming to cryptocurrency to business, this platform has tons of amazing content and has often helped my writing reach new audiences.

When you submit an article, an editor will verify it and sometimes even improve the article (like making the title SEO friendly, correcting mistakes you may have missed). If your story is approved (which it often is) it will then be distributed into topics, tweeted out to Hackernoon’s 55k Twitter following 3 times, and maybe even featured in their newsletter!

Thanks to this website, 2 of my post from The Detechor got 368 and 287 impressions on the platform. By adding links back to your blog this can't result in a fair amount of traffic!

Medium

That’s right if you're not doing it already, Medium is one of the best, if not the best place to cross-post your content!

With the ability to gather a following, earn money through the partner program, and submit stories to a huge number of different publications covering every topic under the sun, Medium is a must for cross-posting!

If you’re interested, here is a post I wrote about extending your blog's reach with Medium:

Coil Blogs

This is definitely less well-known than the platforms I previously mentioned, but I have high hopes for Coil Blogs.

Coil’s primary purpose is web-monetization, they work towards providing you with better ways to access and reward the creators, publishers and platforms that create the content you love. They intend to do this by using a technology called Web Monetization which enables streaming micro-payments — aka tiny fractions of a penny — to instantly flow to websites as you read, watch and listen. By subscribing for $5/month, you get access to Imgur Emerald, Cinnamon videos, the ability to support creators you love and read everything on Coil Blog.

Once you’ve become a Coil Creator (you don’t have to become a paying member for this), you can then cross-post your content to Coil Blogs or submit links to the original content.

The added benefit is, of course, that you’ll now be receiving micro-payments whenever someone reads your post (you can also implement Coil monetization on your blog, YouTube and Twitch channels).

Although Coil Blogs aren’t as yet receiving a ton of traffic, the concept is truly unique and has a lot of potential!

LinkedIn

The world’s largest professional network on the internet, LinkedIn allows people from various professional backgrounds, such as small business owners, students, and job seekers to connect. It also allows you to join groups, write articles, post photos and videos and more.

You have the choice between posting articles on your personal page (which is good if your blog is in your name) or you can set up a company page for your blog which is what I did for The Detechtor.

You can then connect with people you know and build a “network” to increase your visibility.

Flipboard

Finally, we have Flipboard, a platform that aggregates content from social media, news feeds, photo sharing sites and other websites, presents it in magazine format, and allows users to “flip” through the articles, images and videos being shared.

Slightly differing from the platforms I previously mentioned, instead of cross-posting your article you’ll instead be submitting links to your articles and organising them in magazines. I suggest creating a magazine for your blog or even for each category or subject your blog covers, then submitting your RSS feed to the Magazine so it’ll automatically be updated with your new posts.

Thanks to its large user-base, Flipboard is great for traffic and it even has its own app which I use a lot for reading blog posts and articles!

If you want to find out more about Flipboard you can read my review!
