Studies show that 30% of marriages break up due to financial problems, and 45% because of unrealistic expectations. While 55% break up due to infidelity, and 25% for violent abuse.

However, one study piqued my interest. Single parents have a 25% chance of getting a divorce. Add another 5% if the child is a girl. As a single mother of an 18-year-old girl, these numbers don’t sit well with me when I think about marriages.

Somehow, I was relieved to know that women who have had sex with six or more sexual partners are 3 times more likely to stay in their marriages than women who had fewer sexual partners before marriage. Probably because they have experienced sex with different men, now they want something more than sex.

Now that gives me hope that my marriage won’t be destined for doom. I have got the numbers to show for good sex. If I were to divorce my spouse, I’m sure the most likely cause would be sex and not money or violent abuse. How do I know?

Because I see a repeated partner in my sex life. There are days I can’t get it enough. Then there are days, I just can’t stand the sight of my partner the moment he mentions sex.
