5 Quick Ways to Remain Grateful in Challenging Times

A life lived with gratitude is peace in disguise.

Life is a riddle.

As humans, we must solve the riddle with the mysteries around us. There will be failure, joy, happiness, death, and incidents that will take your breath away, but while your eyes are open, you must learn to remain calm.

To show grace under pressure. Sure, it’s challenging. But as the best creation from GOD, you must learn the art of gratitude to navigate life.

I’ve been using gratitude for a long time now, and trust me, even though you cannot prove it scientifically, faith tells us that when you are grateful, life offers you more.

How to beat challenging times with gratitude?

Being grateful is a mindset. And since we are not trained to look out for flaws, we rarely get time to pause and show gratitude towards life. But, here are a few ways in which gratitude will help you overcome difficult times.

As mentioned earlier, gratitude is a mindset. If you can train your mind to look for the good in the world, it will be easy to bring peace to your heart.

1. Begin each day with a grateful heart and an open mind

Nicolas Tesla famously said, “If you want to unfold the world's mystery, understand the frequencies.”

Everything in the world has its frequency. Even your thoughts. Early morning is the perfect time to establish the tone of the day.

When you begin your day, be grateful for the things you already have.

Count ten of your blessings. Blessings can be as simple as a healthy body, a roof on your head, good friends, healthy parents, and understanding siblings.

You can count your blessings, and your day with beginning with a smile every day.

2. Make a gratitude prayer for everything that you give away

For instance, if you buy food, say a gratitude prayer, “Thank GOD for the money for this food.”

The universal rule of abundance is, “Whatever you’re grateful for grows.”

Be grateful for the money spent, for the food you eat, and for the hours of work that you give to your boss.

As discussed earlier, everything has a frequency. When you give away thanks, in return you get positive energy from the universe.

3. Stop comparing yourself with others and start appreciating your strengths

The worst thing you can do is to compare yourself with others.

GOD created everyone unique. You have your talent, your success, your failures, and even your demons. When you compare yourself with others, you upset GOD. You were created because you have something special to give to the world, whether it’s your talent, your finance, your time, or your mentorship.

When you feel upset, start appreciating your journey. How far you’ve come with whatever you have? What do you become in achieving your goals?

Think of life’s happiest moments and give a pat on your back. You’ve done some beautiful things in life. And even if you haven’t reached your goal, be grateful that you’re on your way to that goal.

The journey itself is a blessing.

4. ONE positive friend can change your life

Everyone has that friend who seems to find happiness even in the darkest moments. Call that friend and talk to them. Plan a lunch with them or spend more time with them.

The more time you spend with optimistic people, some of the optimism will rub off on you, and you’ll develop productive habits to get along in the darkest moments of your life.

5. Connect with nature

Nature is an instant mood-uplifter.

When times feel tough, and life sucks, go out in your garden and walk for a while. Leave the cell phone at home. Your mission is to enjoy the world around you. The beauty that GOD created for you embraces it.

The thing with nature is that the more time you spend in nature, the more you start appreciating the world around you, and you forget your worries.

GOD created humans in a way that whenever they get close to nature, they feel at peace. I’ve experienced it several times in my life. Whatever I think, when I go for a walk, I feel hopeful and grateful and happy and even creative.

So, the next time you have a bad day, go out, relax, and have a date with nature.

In the end

Life is less about what happens to us and more about how we respond to it.

The simple rule of gratitude is, “The more grateful you feel, the more happy and blessed and at peace, you’ll become.” The more ungrateful you become, bad things will start happening in your life.

But with these five simple tips, you can create your happiness anywhere, anytime.
