85% of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)are women. A woman is beaten every 9 seconds. I was that woman.
Every year, nearly 5.3 million incidents of IPV occur amount U.S. women 18 years or older. I was that woman.
IPV results in nearly 1300 deaths and 2 million injuries every year in the United States. I was that woman for injuries and almost died.
More than 3 women are killed by husbands/boyfriends every day. I escaped.
1 in 3 women worldwide has been forced into sex, beaten, or otherwise abused another way during her lifetime. I was that woman.
Despite severe under-reporting of IPV, calls related to IPV makeup about half of all violent crime calls to police departments. I was that woman.
Only 1 out of 5 IPV victims with physical injuries seek professional medical treatment. I was that woman.
