Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I’m constantly striving to improve my craft. While I may not consider myself a brilliant writer, I always give it my all. I have some trouble proofreading, and it takes me several rounds to catch all my errors.
Thankfully, tools like Grammarly have been a lifesaver in helping me catch ‘most’ mistakes.
But enough about my shortcomings — let’s talk about my new challenge! I’m taking on the task of writing one article every single day for 365 days, and I couldn’t be more excited.

So, why am I doing this?
We’ve all been there — diving into a new project with all our energy and enthusiasm, only to burn out and abandon it halfway through. But not this time! I’m taking a different approach by committing to writing one article a day for 365 days.
Just one article, not three or four — but ONE ONLY!
Who has time to chase views on Medium? Not me — I have killer articles to write! I’m putting the view-counting game to rest and focusing on crafting quality content to make readers say, “Wow.” Of course, I might quickly peek at my stats throughout the day.
I definitely will continue to read other interesting articles on Medium.
But my writing efforts will end after that one DAILY KILLER article is published.
Plus, I don’t want to overwork my fingers — I need them for important things like holding my coffee!
This challenge will help me stay motivated and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Who knows where this journey will take me on my path to becoming a better writer? Whether it’s greatness or just a lot of bad first drafts.
My Writing Process
Mornings are the perfect time for me. I find that my mind is sharper and my energy levels are higher in the mornings, making it the perfect time for me to hit the gym and get my body moving.
After my workout, I will prioritize writing as a way to channel my focus and boost my productivity for the day.
If you’re a morning person like me and looking for a new challenge, why not join me on this journey of writing one article daily for 365 days? Let me know in the comments if you’re up for it, no matter the time of year.

This is how I plan to go about writing:
- Writing about humorous news — things I find funny, daily observations, and health/fitness tips.
- Sharing information I have acquired over the years.
- Brainstorming new ideas and organising them by topic or theme.
- Researching topics.
- Reading articles and books by other writers to get inspiration and get writing tips.
How will I stay on track and not get burned out?
One of my biggest challenges as a writer is finding the motivation to write consistently.
However, I can stay on track by writing one article daily. Today marks the beginning of my journey — Monday, July 24th, 2023.
Whether you’re reading this on the day it was written or sometime in the future, welcome!
Let’s see where this journey takes us in a year’s time.
It ends on 23rd July 2024!
Finding Motivation and Consistency
Recently, I lost 6kg over six months by tracking my daily progress slowly and consistently.
This experience has prepared me for the challenge of writing one article a day, as it has taught me that slow and steady wins the race. I’m thrilled to embark on this journey and become a better writer.
I follow a healthy living meal plan focusing on healthy eating and portion control rather than specific diets. This is a lifestyle change that I’m committed to maintaining.
Sorry, I digress … Back to the writing challenge
There may be situations where it's impossible for me to write on a given day, but I can always make up for it the next day. What can I can do if I cannot write an article :
-Brainstorm for new ideas
-Research topics in my area
-Edit existing work
I’m excited— have I mentioned that already? Well, I can’t help it — I’m just so darn excited!
Regardless of what happens, I’m excited to see how this challenge will help me grow as a writer. I’m excited to start writing one article a day for 365 days.
I hope that by sharing my experiences and insights, I can help others on their own writing journeys.

🤓📢🤓UPDATE: Today is 5th January 2024. I’m eagerly anticipating July. I’ve reached 196 stories! I’ve consistently posted one story each day for the past five months. On a few occasions, I posted two stories in a day, primarily to ask questions.
Are you in?
P.S. — I’m counting this as my first post, as my fingers are tired from editing other articles and writing this one! Haha!
