Memories, mission, and meaning

3 Things You Agreed to Before Coming to Earth

First, you agreed to forget everything about past lives

1. You Agreed to Forget Everything

Imagine coming to earth knowing you had a sit down with God, mapped out your entire life, and shook hands with him after signing a soul contract.

How would you act?

As a human who was going to grow to develop an ego, if you knew this information, you’d be walking around here thinking you’re the shit! And hey, you are, don’t get me wrong, but if you remembered what happened before you arrived here, you wouldn’t know how to act.

We’d all be walking around with swollen spiritual egos.

The universe knows this fact, so it makes us go through a veil of forgetfulness where we basically forget everything that took place before our arrival. We lose all memories of life in the spirit world.

We’re made to forget so we can start all over again without the past pain, hurts, disappointments, and regrets of the past life hanging over our heads and holding us back from having a new experience we can learn from.

Why is this so? I don’t know.

All I know is that life is a test and during a test, the teacher is silent. We aren’t given any answers during a test. We must figure it out on our own. So this is a mystery we will understand when our jobs here are done.

But I believe the subconscious mind never forgets. The soul never forgets.

That’s why for some people, there will always be an intense longing for something they don't even know or the feeling that something is missing. For others, there’s the feeling that this place is not home and a strong desire to go back home.

This is why some people use hypnosis or past life regression to remember past lives and to help bring memories to the forefront. They know they are missing something and can’t quite put their finger on it, so they use spirituality to help them remember aspects of themselves from a past life.

And we can do that.

Even after forgetting, we have the power to remember at any point we figure out there’s more to the story. Some of us wake up through spiritual awakenings and we remember who we are, but others get so distracted they never remember.

Our main purpose in life is to remember who we are.

You must know your true identity. You are the shit! You have to always know that while keeping your ego in check.

You are an immortal spiritual being, having a temporary human experience.

2. You Agreed to Complete a Mission

Before you were conceived, you were entrusted with a mission. You were asked if you could do it and you said yes you can. You were asked again, and you said, “Don’t worry, I got it.” You were told you would forget and there would be many distractions on the way, and you said, “You would remember who you are.”

Sure, life would be so much easier if we came knowing who we are and what we’re here for, but life isn’t easy.

Life is hard, just like a test. It wouldn’t be a test if we had all the answers. We may even forget the teacher is there when he's so silent. Although the teacher is silent, he observes everything.

He knows all the answers.

We forget our connection to God, the contracts we signed, and the plans we made. We forget our mission and our only job is to remember that mission and to complete it.

There are things your soul didn’t get to experience in a previous lifetime and therefore chooses to come back here to experience it. There may be things we never remembered in a past life; tests we failed that we are repeating in order to advance to the next level.

Your soul will prompt you to remember. It’ll push you towards your mission. Pay attention. It’s your responsibility to remember and fulfill that mission so your work here can be done.

When your work is done, you ascend.

We come here with a mission and our one and only job is to remember that mission and complete it.

3. You Agreed to Give The Proper Meaning to Every Situation

You knew before you came that whatever you experience is only positive or negative because you say it is. Anything you experience in your life is basically neutral.

It all depends on the meaning you give it.

You get to decide whether the things that happen in your life are happening to you or for you?

How you define an event determines your emotions and your thoughts. That devastating breakup is neither positive nor negative. It can be positive if it leads you to remember who you are or you can label it negative because it fucking hurts!

The minute you look at an event and assign it meaning, you infuse it with emotion. And your emotions are just energy in motion which drives your actions.

The meaning determines the emotional tone of that experience and the feelings you generate. What you knew to do is to have a positive outlook on life and infuse positive meaning into the things that happen.

Our ultimate power is connected to how we define reality.

We have tremendous power to tap into unlimited potential, but that’s connected to the meaning we give to the events that happen in our lives.

Perspective is everything.

When you change your perspective, the things you perceive change. No matter what is going on in your life right now, you can choose empowering meanings that fuel your next move instead of disempowering ones that paralyze you.

You knew that life would sometimes suck, and you agreed to remain conscious of the meanings you assign to the things that happen to you. Whatever happens to you, you can reframe it by simply changing your perspective and assigning a new meaning.

Reframing isn’t about pretending a situation is good when it sucks. It’s not about saying you’re okay when you’re hurt and falling apart on the inside.

It’s about accepting what’s happening, acknowledging how it could have been better, learning any lessons so you don’t miss out on knowledge, and figuring out how you can use the situations to improve your life and also that of others.

Every situation whether positive or negative has something to teach you.
