The year 2022 is here! If you are reading this right now, congratulations. You made it. God has bestowed upon you another chance at life to make some positive changes in not only your life but your family’s life as well. Now while you were given another chance, you have to choose what to do with that chance. You can choose to take advantage of the opportunity to build yourself up whether it be financially, physically, spiritually, or mentally. Or you can fuck it all up. Need some tips or advice on what you can do to elevate yourself? Here are three things you can start doing to get you on the right track to an amazing year:

  1. Stop blowing your wealth and learn to invest

Does anybody remember what happened a couple of years back before the pandemic hit the nation? A chicken pandemic. It was one the likes of which have never seen before unless your a Boondocks fan like myself were one of the episodes predicted something like this would happen.

Talk about life imitating art. It still to this day makes no sense to me how I would drive past multiple Popeyes chicken restaurants and see lines of cars packed from the drive-through into the damn street just itching to get that processed, greasy, and heart disease-causing chicken sandwich. I remember one time there was an ambulance at one of the Popeyes locations because a worker and a customer got into it because they ran out of chicken sandwiches. Then to top it all off, Black folks were out here promoting the chicken sandwich like they owned the brand — billions of dollars in the free promotion all for a white man’s disgusting chicken. It was that bad. Now the sandwich cost about five dollars. I knew a few Black folks that would go to Popeyes five times a week just to get one sandwich. That’s twenty dollars. Now imagine if instead you took that same money and invested into Restaurant Brands International, the corporation that owns Popeyes and other fast-food restaurants, during that time? You probably would have made some serious bank.

2. Keeping dusty niggas in your circle

Why do you need to stay away from dusty niggas? Read this and you will know why.

3. Ignorance

We are living in the greatest age in terms of education — the age of information. One google search can help you with all the answers to your questions. So why is it that some of us don’t take advantage of it? There is no excuse for someone to keep saying the words “I don’t know,” multiple times about the same subject or topic. You have books, you have google, you YouTube, you have educators out here that are ready to assist you. You just have to want it.

Let’s win in 2022, Black people!
