3 Reasons You Can’t Trust Your Soul
The soul is as strong or as weak as the mind is
1. Your Soul Is the Spiritual Version of Your Body
Your soul isn't superior or a better/higher version of you. If the mind is evolved, it's likely that the soul will be evolved, but if the mind is not evolved, the soul would not be any different. This is because the soul comprises the mind, will, and emotions.
The physical body is a vehicle or vessel the soul occupies. The soul can exist outside the body after the body dies, but the body can’t cross over into the spirit realm. It falls to the ground after the soul ascends.
The soul isn’t seen in the physical dimension with the two physical eyes, but with the third eye, it’s a different story, as it’s the seat of the soul.
The soul is just a spiritual version of the body, and they act on each other. The soul isn’t better or more evolved. Whatever it is you feel in the physical world is exactly what your soul feels in the spiritual world.
Both the body and the soul can go through trauma and die. Neither the body, mind, or soul can be trusted until it has been healed, renewed, or restored.
If the mind is evolved, it’s likely that the soul will be evolved, but if the mind is not evolved, the soul would not be any different.
2. Your Soul Can Be Lost or Fall Short of Glory
For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? — Mark 8:36.
The body can grow weak, the mind can get ill, and the soul can lose its way. It is why there’s the expression “God have mercy on your soul.” It is the soul that pays for all the poor decisions the body makes after death.
Souls can become tainted and wounded with sin. It then becomes impure. It is the soul that is judged or condemned by God. The soul that loses its purity is no longer one with God. Sin has and will always lead to a separation from God.
A bodily wound may last for months but it always heals, but the wounds of the soul can last many lifetimes. It’s difficult to tell where we are aching inside of our soul and can therefore go on for years. Physical pain is easier to soothe, but the pain of the soul is crippling.
God breathes His holy spirit in every one of us as soon as we emerge out of our mother’s womb. The spirit is very different from the soul. It is what can be trusted. It is the part of man that connects and communicates with God. Our spirit differs from our soul because our spirit belongs to God, whereas our soul is ours and can therefore be evil and self-centered.
The spirit God breathes in babies makes them the closest to pure souls you’ll find. But this purity is short-lived the moment we become exposed to the sins of the world.
The soul can heal, but for that to happen, we must become pure again by separating ourselves from sin. It is through our sins that we are separated from the spirit of God. In our purity, we can draw close to God, who can restore our soul.
When you draw near to God, your crushed human spirit is refilled with the Holy Spirit, which provides healing for the soul. When the soul is restored, it finds its way back home.
It is the Spirit of God that purifies our body, renews our minds, and restores our souls.
3. Your Soul Isn’t Always Saved in The End
Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die — Ezekiel 18:4.
When you know what death is, then you will know what life is. When we hear death, we automatically assume that the heart stops beating, the lung stops breathing, and vital signs cease.
But the words of the bible don't mean what they usually mean.
For example, death in the bible has nothing to do with the physical death of the body. The first time the bible mentioned death was in Genesis when God said to Adam and Eve that the day they ate the forbidden fruit is the day they would surely die but they ate from the tree and they did not die. Or did they? They sure did. Their spirits became separated from God. Their death began in their soul the moment they disobeyed God, and He condemned them.
If the mind tempts you to sin, then the soul played a part in it, because the soul is the ruler of the mind. The soul that’s impure perishes, but the soul of the pure is eternal and has everlasting life. If we live life in obedience to God, we won’t have to worry about the death of our souls.
“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body — Ezekiel 18:4.”
