2 Things That Can Change Your Health…..Drastically!

Yes, we’ve all heard of doing these two things, but do we really understand them? Below the surface, do you actually follow these 2 simple guidelines? We will see.

Photo by Ross Findon on Unsplash

This is going to be some basic, shall we call it, in your face type stuff. So, don’t get mad if you feel this applies to you. You are warned.

When talking about health and fitness, if you break everything down to the basic, basic, basic bottom level, the least common denominator, if you will, things tend to make a bit more sense.

By least common denominator I mean, if you remember that math phrase from high school and college, the basic stuff that is the same for everything. Make sense?

Ok, here we go, you got to do two things to be healthier. That’s it, two basic things to be healthier. I don’t like to make things complicated. Complicated to me just isn’t necessary when you can have basic, least common denominator, type of stuff.

Now, each one of the two things can expand into a gazillion different threads or subcategories, however you want to look at it?

After you read these two basic things, you’re going say “yeah so?” and think about blowing off the rest of this article.

But if you really get down and think about it in a deeper level, you’ll be saying “You know what, you’re right on this one “

But, on the surface you’re still going to be saying “duh!”

So, enough dilly-dally, let’s get to those two things:

You got to ONE: eat right and TWO: move your body.

Yes, it’s as simple as that; eat right move your body.

When you start doing those two things CONSISTENTLY, you’re going to see all kinds of changes going on.

Now, the next question usually is…. “okay, so what do you mean by eating right?”

Well, there’s all kinds of different, I guess variations, of what I’m talking about.

There’s all kinds of diet fads. There’s the keto, the taquito, the meato, the weedo, the South Beach, Long Beach, the North Beach, whatever. There are all kinds of seaweed, seafood, fresh water, salt water, dirty water, diets as well.

But, when you boil everything down, it all comes down to one thing, and we hear this all the time, “you need to eat clean.”

That’s great to know, but what exactly does that mean, eat clean?

So think about it, we’re adults, right? We should have an understanding of what’s good for us and what’s bad for us, in terms of health.

Through my years of talking about this, I’ve realized that not everyone actually understands the difference between good nutrition and bad nutrition. Heck, I once had a debate with someone who believed that food from Taco Bell was healthy because……”it’s been deemed the healthiest fast food on the market.” Huh?

So, I break it down to simple terms with the people who ask me. It’s actually quite simple. I break it down to three little things…

1. Cut out as much sugar as possible.

2. Cut out as much salt as possible.

3. Drink more water.

Do those three things you’re gonna change your life.

Is it gonna be difficult? Yes it is.

Why? Because as humans in today’s society, we are used to having excess sugar. We are used to having excess salt all the time.

It’s as simple as that. BUT, I will warn you, when you start cutting stuff out of your diet, your body is going to say, “what’s going on!”

But I’ll tell you this, if you can get through that first few days, that first hump, or that first hurdle, you know you’re on a whole different plateau at that point.

Okay so that’s the simple nutrition part of it eating healthy, eating right.

The next one is moving your body.

What does that mean?

Well, it could be all kinds of different things, depends on what you want your body to be sculpted like, what you want your body to look like.

Think of it this way, the human body is designed to run, jump, bend, push, pull, stretch. It’s designed to do all those things.

If you’re not utilizing that, of course your body is going to adapt to whatever you do.

If you’re laying on the couch, your body is going to adapt to laying on the couch.

If you’re a marathon runner, your body is going to adapt adapt to being a marathon runner.

If you’re a bodybuilder your body is going to adapt to being a bodybuilder.

Your body is going to adapt to whatever you do, then why not do something that’s good for your body? The body is not going to do it by itself. You have to tell your mind to tell your body “hey, let’s get off the couch and do something.”

Are these to things making sense? Do you get it?

People get too caught up in the fancy dancy gidgets and gadgets exercise stuff, but when in actuality, that’s just a plus for body movement. But, we’ll talk about that another time.

I hope this is making sense on a basic level. Once again, I’m using HUGE broad strokes with all this, in terms of understanding it all.

But, if you look at any workout program out there and I don’t care if it’s somebody you got across the hall from you or across the world from you who designed a workout program.

I don’t care what it is, you’re going to move your body and you’re going to eat properly, according to that particular program.

Everything else is added on to it, it is designed for specific reasons.

But in the basic level, those are two things you got to do.

And once again, it could be a “duh”, but are you actually doing it, are you actually practicing it?

So, you could say “duh” all you want, but until you’re actually practicing it, doing something that is going to help you out, chances are it’s not working for you.

This is stuff that I talk about all the time with my YouTube channel. I like to keep things basic and use common sense as well.

I do hope you got something out of this. If you want to know more about the way I look at health and fitness, let me know. I also have several other articles out there, I’ll link to them below.

But for now, remember to eat right and move your body!
