10 ways to get success on Medium- I’ve learned from writing daily on Medium
Writing daily on Medium is no less than a laborious task for me, but I am doing it
Writing daily on Medium is an excellent opportunity to improve your writing skills, gain a following, and even make some income.
From the start, I wish to daily on medium but failed to continue it, after the results of 30 days writing challenge on medium. After a year, I decided to start writing routine on the platform again. This time my writing experience on medium is going great. I’ve learned many valuable lessons. These lessons have not only sharpened my skills as a writer, but they’ve also helped me better understand the Medium ecosystem, and algorithm.
Here are ten lessons I’ve learned from writing daily on Medium:
1. Consistency is key
Everyone says consistency is the key, so I am following it nowadays. Writing daily on Medium requires discipline and commitment. But, if you’re consistent with it, you’ll start to see the benefits of your hard work. Consistency is essential to building an audience and improving your writing. It also builds good writing habits.
2. Write what you’re passionate about
When you’re writing daily, it can be challenging to come up with new ideas that you’re motivated to write about, that’s why it’s essential to write about topics you’re passionate about. Passionate writing is often more engaging and enjoyable to read, which is critical to building an audience. It also gives a unique sense to your content.
3. Focus on quality over quantity
While it’s important to write consistently, quality is always more important than quantity. Take the time to edit and refine your work before hitting the publish button. Writing high-quality content will keep readers coming back and help you build a loyal audience. Previously, I randomly wrote articles on medium, this time I am trying to produce quality and quantity articles to get the best results.
4. Engage with other writers
Engaging with other writers on Medium is a great way to network, find inspiration, and learn new writing techniques. Don’t be shy about commenting on other people’s articles or reaching out to other writers for collaboration opportunities. Engaging with other writers also help in increasing your medium community.
5. Learn the Medium algorithm
Understanding how the Medium algorithm works can give you a significant advantage in building a following and making money. Spend some time learning how the platform promotes articles and what makes an article successful. This learning is only achieved by spending some time on medium, either reading or writing daily on medium.
6. Use eye-catching headlines
Headlines are the first thing readers see when browsing stories on Medium. A compelling headline is essential to getting readers to click and read your article. Spend some time developing headlines that grab people’s attention and entice them to read more. Unfortunately, I rarely produce eye-catching headlines. This is also my drawback behind slow progress on medium as a writer.
7. Use images and multimedia
Incorporating images, videos, and other multimedia elements can make your articles more engaging and informative. Use these elements to enhance your writing and keep readers interested throughout your piece. Also, do not forget to label the images according to the story. You can get free images from Unsplash, Pixabay and many more other free images platforms, but always find out the relevant image.
8. Learn from your analytics
Medium provides detailed analytics about how your articles are performing. Use this information to understand what topics your audience is most interested in and what types of articles perform well. This information can help you refine your writing and build a larger audience. Although I recommend using stats page but checking it constantly is worthless and energy draining.
9. Write with specific audiences in mind
Understanding your audience is critical to writing successful Medium articles. Write with a specific audience in mind, and tailor your writing to their interests and needs. This approach will help make your articles more engaging and useful to your readers. It also increases your chance to get more traffic on articles.
10. Share your work
Finally, don’t be afraid to share your work on social media and other platforms. Sharing your work can help you reach new audiences and build a larger following on the Medium. Be sure to include a link back to your Medium profile or website, so readers can find more of your work. I highly recommend twitter, because I love sharing my medium writing on Twitter, and it gives me some read.
Writing daily on Medium can be challenging, but it’s also a highly rewarding experience. By using these tips and strategies, you can refine your writing skills, build an audience, and even make some money along the way. I hope you are also enjoying writing daily on Medium.
