How to write daily?
My strategy of writing daily on Medium — you can also write daily
How to write daily is a never ending confusion running in writer’s mind. So I decided to share my strategy on how I am writing daily.
Before moving on, let me share that Writing daily is an activity that can benefit anyone, not just professional writers. Whether you want to work on your creativity, develop a new skill, or enhance your communication abilities, writing every day can help with all of these goals. Here are some tips on how to write daily.
1. Set a Goal
The first step in writing every day is to set a goal for how much you want to write. You might choose to write for 10 minutes or an hour each day; it depends on your schedule and your commitment level. Setting a goal helps you stay focused and accountable.
2. Eliminate Distractions
Minimize distractions while writing. Try to write in a quiet space, turn off your phone or put it on silent, and shut down social media notifications. Distractions can reduce your creativity and disrupt your focus, so try to eliminate them as much as possible.
3. Take Breaks
Like reading, we need breaks to refresh the mind, similarly we need to break while writing. Taking breaks every so often helps you stay motivated and refreshed. Try pacing, going for a walk, or stretching. Short breaks will replenish your energy and clarity.
4. Set Deadlines
Create deadlines for larger projects, or write to-do lists to help you make progress on those projects. Deadlines give you a sense of urgency and motivate you to get things done. Writing every day without deadlines can become monotonous and ineffective.
5. Write Freely
Write freely, without fear of judgment. Writing every day creates a space to experiment, explore and learn. Be yourself, experiment with writing forms, and see how that feels. But keep in mind to structure your free thoughts while writing.
6. Incorporate Editing
Incorporate editing into your writing every day. Editing doesn’t have to mean getting caught up perfecting every word. It means reading your work and refining it for clarity and tone. Eliminate redundancy, awkward phrasing, and tighten up your writing.
7. Make it Fun
Finally, make writing fun. It should be a pleasant experience, if you enjoy what you’re writing, you are more likely to continue doing it. Instead of treating writing as work, incorporate it into fun activities like journaling, writing exercises or creating short stories.
In conclusion, writing daily can give you a new perspective, help you work out of creative blockages, and improve your overall writing skills. Creating a routine, setting goals, and minimizing distractions can help you stay motivated and on track. Incorporating editing, set deadlines, taking breaks, and making it enjoyable is key your progress.
