RANDOM | FICTION | DRABBLE

You’re Never Too Young to Show Who You Are

A daily drabble challenge

Today’s random word is Faculty.

Because drabbles are short, please consider staying on this page for at least 30 seconds to count as a read. 💕

“Kids shouldn’t attend college until they’re in their forties,” Kim said. “Any earlier, and they’re too young to appreciate the privilege.”

“I’m not sure about that,” Kate sighed. “I learned a lot — socially — from my years in and out of class.”

The women watched as toddler Susie banged an iPad off Eliza’s head.

“Kate, what do you think Eliza will be when she’s grown? Will she join the faculty like you?”

What will she become, or do you mean, who?”

“Aren’t they the same?”

“What she does isn’t who she is, but I know, if nothing else, she’ll be kind.”

Nancy Oglesby writes, “If you are unfamiliar with a drabble, it is a fiction story of exactly 100 words.”

To make the challenge more interesting, each day, she gives a random word prompt.

Don’t miss out on today’s drabble.

If you’re looking for this month’s prompts, Fiction Short’s got you covered.
