TOP POET FOR FEBRUARY
The award for excellence in the field of poetry, you have honored
One of the things that makes love so precious when we find it is the awareness of how fragile it is. We know that if we are lucky enough to find our person, we will at some point be parted from them. This incredibly beautiful, vulnerable and touching piece by Caroline allows us to bear witness to grief in its rawest and most powerful form. It is at once humbling and hopeful, as we acknowledge the wish to know a love like this.
TOP FICTION WRITER FOR FEBRUARY
The award for excellence in the field of fiction, you have honored
For me one of the truest tests of great fiction is whether it gives you that moment in which you want to devour it as quickly as possible to find out what happens, but also want to put it off, to make the experience last as long as you can. So many of you called out for more in the comments of this piece and I agree with you.
ESSAYIST FOR FEBRUARY
The award for excellence in the field of essay writing, you have honored
When I wrote this month’s theme I was hoping for nuanced responses that delved into the wonderful and rewarding relationship humans have with animals but also explored what ‘ownership’ means and whether it was still relevant or even acceptable in the modern day. Chantelle’s piece did exactly that and sparked a fascinating conversation in the comments as well as instigated many offline conversations I am sure. It was one of the easiest nomination decisions of my month and I’m happy the boost team agreed with me and supported it getting the readership it deserved. It’s a piece not to be missed.
TOP ARTICLE WRITER FOR FEBRUARY
The award for excellence in article writing, you have honored
Exploring human behaviour is something most of us love to do, what makes people tick, their motivations and even their behaviours and how we respond to them. In this article Kristi explores the daily actions and behaviours that we view as strong, positive and ‘good’.
Words have a certain amount of impact but it is our actions that speak the loudest, this month you loved Kristi’s dive into the most important rules for life and relationships.
