Your Beautiful Self
How to embrace the new you

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.
Dalai Lama
Knowing yourself, Inner beauty, Radiates outwards, Towards humanity.
Accepting each flaw, Loving every part, Your precious being, Invites your wonder.
Unconditionally supported, Everflowing life, Reaching the surface, Of your spirit.
Protecting your days, Finding the light, Comprehending life’s journey, Towards your dreams.
This poem is in response to Sahil Patel’s prompt:
How have you changed in the last 5 years? What’s the biggest lesson you learned?
I have changed immensely in the last five years, but especially in the last two. It is beautiful to see how much we grow as human beings over time.
The pandemic gave me a chance to go inward and explore my true heart.
I learned to set loving boundaries, send out love and light in difficult times, and much more. It is a life-long journey getting to know yourself. Embrace each moment, knowing lessons will make you stronger.
Instead of always following expectations, I now look for the clues within my own heart. Saying yes to life has afforded me the opportunity to grow beyond my wildest dreams.
How have you changed over these past 5 years? I invite you to share your story in the comments. I appreciate you!
Thank you to my wonderful writer friends supporting me on my journey: Liberty Forrest, Author, Tonya S. Ware, pockett dessert, Jenine Bsharah Baines, and Amanda Laughtland.
Thank you, Sahil Patel, for this beautiful poetry challenge in Lifeline. I appreciate you!
