Getting 1k as a new writer is a pretty big achievement and one of the first targets to aim for. Gaining 1k+ views was recently coined by some genius (me) as going semi-viral.

With this in mind, I couldn’t believe how much I made for this story…

A mouthwatering $0.17.

The story was ‘The Ronaldo Effect’.

I don’t know who I blame for receiving this insulting amount. Maybe Medium. Maybe Ronaldo. Maybe the effect Ronaldo has on people. Maybe myself.

What I do know, someone owns me at least a tenner. Maybe Medium. Maybe Ronaldo.

Why did these views only amount to $0.17?
