DELUDED CUSTODIANS | DECEMBER CHALLENGE

“You Need To Ask for Gratitude and Good Behavior.”

My mama said this about my letter to Santa. Obviously, I ignored her.

Dear Santa Claus,

I hope this letter finds you at the peak of your fitness and holiday spirit. I confess I haven’t been perfect this year but haven’t been naughty either. I’ve deduced you are well-endowed and generous to mamas, so I’m sending you my wish list of things you won’t get from Amazon with hope and a prayer to receive them all!

  1. Love After 70: — A love that ages like fine wine, deepening and maturing over the years, just like the best CrossFit workouts, please. (Ref: Nevena Pascaleva)

2. Ability to Always Find A Vein of Humanness: — Grant grace to my sisters and brothers trying to find a vein of love. May they see me as needed. And grant me the compassion to give grace as needed. (Ref: Doro Volkova)

3. Marital Brilliance: — Bless my marriage with brilliance, the kind that sparks in the eyes during laughter and glows in the quiet moments of understanding. (Ref: Rajesh Poovathum kadavil)

4. Love Inside a Spoon: — Tablespoonfuls of love to sweeten our days, each mouthful a reminder of the shared joys that make our relationship strong and enduring. With that, an understanding of those among us who seek solace in representations of love, avatars like spoons. (Ref: Benighted)

5. Swim Lessons for the Shallow End: — Help me navigate the shallow waters of AI challenges, especially since I can’t swim metaphorically and literally. I need this for work. (Ref: Ian Beckett MSc)

6. An Eye for an Eye: — A playful request for an ‘eye for an eye,’ the kind that sees the good in others, fostering empathy and understanding toward those who do me wrong. I recognize that the end of my days is already written, so the person who ends me is not to blame. Grace be with me and them. (Ref: Marcus aka Gregory Maidman)

I’ll look for these gifts with one nostril wide shut, embracing the surprises and lessons they may bring and wishing you a joyful holiday filled with burpees and sleigh bells!

Sincerely,
