You Can Find Me
I will never be far
I will be in the light of all things good
In these things, you will find me
In the green grass, below your bare feet and wiggling toes
In the sun's glowing ray, which wraps around the leaf above your head
You won't have to look far, my child
Be brave
Do not look for me among the cold, gray, indifferent graves
I will not be there
I play among the flowers, and I float in their sweet scents
I am that graceful swan on the lake, with my head held high
I am the babbling brook that soothes your every fear
I am the clear blue of your eyes and the gold glint in your hair
You don't have to look far, for I have a safe place in your heart
I am in every smile you see and that upbeat tune that you love
In all these things you can find me, grandchild
I'll never be far
When we play that last game of hide and seek
I will never really be hiding
And you will always be my it
