Greetings! And welcome to The Orange Journal, a rapidly growing personal development publication on Medium.

More importantly, a publication that cares about the success of its writer.

Maybe you know me. I’m Susie, a 2+ year Medium vet and full-time writer. I’m also a Top Writer on Medium. I created this pub with a foundation of integrity and the purpose to educate and inspire.

If you’re looking to publish with me, Alessia May, The Sober Vegan Yogi, Nicole Dake and Thomas Strider in TOJ, we can’t wait to meet you.😃

There are just a few primary resources you will need to succeed at The Orange Journal. When you join, I highly suggest you read/watch these things. All are linked as a friend link, so non-Medium members — don’t fret. I gotchu.

A Note About Formatting Guidelines

Please read the formatting guidelines in full before you submit your draft.

Editors provide one critique per submission. If proper edits are not made within the first round of edits, the piece will not be accepted.

This has been put in place to effectively manage the pub and maintain quality control.

Best of luck! We can’t wait to read your first submission. Thanks again for wanting to contribute to the TOJ community. So excited for your voice to be heard.

Join Us at TOJ!

Once you have done your homework, ask to be added as a writer down below by commenting your Medium handle. You should know where to find it after reading the resources.

Do us both a favor and read the guidelines. I’ll bet you a million you’ll learn something new.😉

(I’d like to think I am organized and have created many resources that dig deep into a lot of newbie topics.)

If there are excessive errors or the piece doesn’t even fit into personal development (as you will learn in the submission guidelines), then your piece will not be accepted by me nor the other editors.

Please don’t take things personally. We run TOJ for free to gain editorial experience and help new writers reach a wider audience. Some people think editors make money from running a pub.

This is only true for maybe 1% of Medium-owned publications that are nearly impossible to get into. (Many top writers who write in places like Forge have been grandfathered in.)

Maintaining quality control and relevancy of topics published within The Orange Journal is how it will continue to grow and attract readers who are specifically interested in reading within the personal development niche.

Remember: All earnings are yours and you always own your content!

😊 Respect our time and we will respect yours. 😊
