Summary

The web content emphasizes the significance of each individual's actions in shaping the universe, drawing on the philosophy of Seth/Jane Roberts, which posits that every person contributes to the collective reality and that even seemingly minor actions can have far-reaching effects.

Abstract

The article delves into the interconnectedness of all beings and actions, as inspired by the teachings of Seth, channeled by Jane Roberts. It posits that each person's choices and behaviors are integral to the fabric of reality, suggesting that without any single individual's contribution, the universe would be fundamentally different. The text underscores the importance of recognizing the value and impact of each person's existence, advocating for a shift in perspective from one of separation and insignificance to one of unity and empowerment. It distinguishes between the ego-self, which experiences life's contrasts, and the True Self, which is eternal and aware of its role in creation. The article calls for the integration of these selves to foster a more harmonious world and to teach future generations the principles of a New Earth, where the understanding of our collective impact is paramount.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the message conveyed by Seth/Jane Roberts is particularly relevant in contemporary times, highlighting the need for a shift in consciousness.
  • There is an opinion that the ego-self, while often perceived negatively, is a crucial aspect of the human experience, necessary for the full appreciation of life's contrasts.
  • The text suggests that the True Self is the source of our individual power and creativity, and that recognizing this aspect of our being can lead to a more fulfilling life.
  • The author expresses that spirituality is a path of remembering our True Self and the interconnected nature of reality, countering the societal norm of prioritizing material success and external validation.
  • The article conveys a critique of the tendency to view certain aspects of life as less significant, advocating instead for an appreciation of all manifestations of existence as equal and divine.
  • It is implied that the integration of the ego-self with the True Self is essential for personal growth and the evolution of consciousness, leading to a more compassionate and unified world.

You Are Important to This Planet

[Updated June 25, 2022] If you did not do what you did today, the entire universe would be different.

You are so a part of the world that your slightest action contributes to its reality. Your breath changes the atmosphere. Your encounters with others alter the fabrics of their lives and the lives of those who come in contact with them.

…It is easy for you to see how the cells of the body form it — that is, you understand at least the cooperative nature of the cell’s activities. An alteration on the part of one cell immediately causes changes in the others and brings about a difference in body behavior.

It is somewhat more difficult for you to understand the ways in which your own actions and those of others combine to bring about world events.

If you did not do what you did today, for example, the entire world would be in some way different. Your acts ripple outward in ways that you do not understand, interacting with the experience of others and hence forming world events.

The most famous and the most anonymous person are connected through such a fabric, and an action seemingly small and innocuous can end up changing history as you understand it.

Each world is so cunningly constructed, again, that each consciousness, regardless of its degree, plays a vital part. And each of your actions, however inconsequential, becomes connected in one way or another — in one way or another — to each other reality and each other world (all with much emphasis).” — Seth/Jane Roberts, Dreams, Evolution and Value Fulfillment, Vol. 1, session 903, February 25, 1980

I OFTEN quote Seth (channeled by Jane Roberts from the mid-1960s to 1984) in my articles. This is the first time that I have cited such a long quote and made it the centerpiece of the article. I did this because the message is so important for our present times. (There is another Seth quote at the end of this article. I created this meme ⬇ based on Seth/Jane Roberts.)

It is all too easy to see our world in disharmony and conflict. It is hard to see everything as connected to and cooperating with everything else.

It is all too easy to feel that one thing is less significant than another thing. It is hard to withhold judgment and celebrate everything as an equal manifestation of God/Source.

It is all too easy to think that we are insignificant and powerless in comparison to other forces in the world. It is hard to see that we create our own reality and we can change our reality.

It is not our fault, of course, for not remembering these things. A major purpose of our incarnations on this planet is to experience forgetting, and then to remember. Spirituality is the path of remembering.

Ego-Self & True Self

WHEN we see separation, disharmony, conflict, and insignificance, we are seeing the world from our ego-self. We perceive existence from that limited self that was taught to forget its True Self.

Our ego-self is not bad. It forgot its True Self so it could experience surface reality in the fullest way possible. This includes the lowest lows and the highest highs.

When we see connection, oneness, harmony, and equality, we are seeing the world from our True Self, our Inner Self, our Soul Self perspective. That self is eternal and knows the deepest meanings of life, beyond the surface reality of highs and lows.

That self knows it is the creator of the entire reality it experiences. And that self knows its ego-self is as valuable and important as every other self in our shared universe.

This is the knowledge that we need to come to know, and need to start teaching our children to bring about a New Earth.

Our ego-self is as much a part of who we are as is our true self. To be our whole self, we also need to be our ego-self 100% and our True Self 100%. (Elsewhere, I refer to these as our outer ego and inner ego, link below.)

We need to integrate our ego-self with our True Self. That is when we become the ultimate reality that we are.

As Seth/Jane Roberts puts it:

“You must not try to slay the conscious self, as you understand it, but {try} to expand its capacities. You must not try to slay the ego but {try} to understand that the ego is a term that you have used. You must not try to deny your individuality but to understand what individuality is and means. And, use it.

If anyone here thinks it is a virtuous advantage to forget desire, to learn a distaste for life, to become detached, then look you to those who have lost desire, who have become detached, and who cry aloud in that agony for a sense of meaning and sensual validity. Those who say “There is no meaning to my life. Where shall I look?” have become detached from the fountainhead of being, the biological and spiritual fountainhead of being.

The soul is not dead. It is not finished and done with and beyond desire. It is desire! It is vitality so strong that it gives birth to your being and grows you from a dream to a physical reality. That is desire! God is desire! A flower, or a dog or a frog is desire!

… God, in those terms, so loved individuals that he individualizes himself. Or, to any, any, any feminists around, she individualizes herself!

… Therefore, neither is that great integrity and privacy of your being ever scandalized or broken apart or shattered, for the God that created it loves it dearly. And in its uniqueness, that God feels its own being expanded and glorified — not in your annihilation, but in your triumphs does All That Is continue to form its realities.”
