Yes, You Can Win Through Imperfection
Featured stories from ILLUMINATION & ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR
As I was reading this week, I stumbled across a poem by K.Kumar that resonated with my life philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in the imperfection of things. Beauty in imperfection is certainly me. This poem got me thinking about the journeys we all take to find a path to a harmonious life. One thing is for sure, there are many roads to blissful living. Hopefully, one of these fine stories will shine a light on your best route, bringing discovery or validation that you are on the path to a life lived to the fullest. As William Wallace said in Braveheart, “Everybody dies, but not everybody truly lives.” Enjoy.
@shriwantchoudhary takes a more intellectual approach, surrendering to life’s imperfections in his story, In the quest for harmony. He spells out five steps he subscribes to in order to live with humility and experience harmony.
As we grow our acceptance muscles, we find, as Ada Lloyd says, “What felt impossible, becomes I’m possible.” And we will begin to feel fully alive. This awakening will help us to realize that what happened before is merely part of the journey we’ve had on the road to where we want to be. Ada explains this transition beautifully in her story Embracing The Freedom To Finally Be Fully Alive.
Diana Dee explains this shift concisely in her story, This is Self-transcendence: A process of change that originates in one’s heart and expands outward. If you are not sure that you’re on your way to leveling up in life, her story will definitely give you a litmus test.
Just because you’ve discovered the new you does not mean life will be smooth sailing. For example, my view of Wabi-Sabi is that sometimes we need to laugh at the adversity life brings to us. But Kristina Segarra has a good solution too. In her story, Nothing in Life Is Guaranteed: Live the best life you can today. She reminds us that everything is temporary and that we should embrace change. I get that. One of the things I always tell my coaching clients is that growth is painful. But it does take you to a better place.
Nevertheless, when something amazing happens in your life, make sure to take the time to enjoy it. These moments don’t come along every day.
Once you’ve got your compass aligned, you are ready to get in the flow and win the day. Dan J gives us some pointers for how to get into the zone and stay there in his story, How to Enter the Zone: How to gain focus and maintain it. Avoiding distractions and focusing on your tasks will allow you to own the moment, and isn’t that what we count as victories at the end of the day?
I hope you enjoy these stories from ILLUMINATION & ILLUMINATIONS-MIRROR. Don’t forget, you can share the love with comments and reactions. These fine writers will appreciate it. Just as I appreciate you taking the time to read this and my other stories. You validate that my life of mishaps and flawed efforts has not gone to waste. Happy reading.
