How to Get Laid and Writing Prompts At the Same Time on Grindr
Just don’t settle for crumbs.
I have written a few stories about Grindr — stories of love, dates, and hookups. Recently I did a first, “car fun.”
I love chatting with people online, most of whom I never hear from again. I am Ok with that, knowing that we meet people for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. I don’t think the online dating world will be any different.
Lately, I have been reading the profiles with much attention. I am surprised to see some good writing on their profile page.
And there it was, my “writing prompts.”
What is a writing prompt?
A writing prompt is a brief passage of text (or sometimes an image) that provides a potential topic idea or starting point for an original essay, report, journal entry, story, poem, or other forms of writing.
Sometimes, the most challenging part of writing is getting started. It can be hard to get your fingers moving across a keyboard, to put one word in front of another.
If you’re struggling with writer’s block, there are prompts and exercises you can try that will help you push past it — and get writing again!
But since I am on a self-imposed writing challenge on steroids, why not multitask, find myself dates and get my writing prompts.

It makes me recall a movie and create a story about it.

And why am I not surprised that online dating apps, not only Grindr, are breeding grounds for ideas, inspiration, and writing prompts?
First, as long as they are not catfishing you, these are real people with real stories.
And if everything goes well, you become part of the “story.”
I am fortunate with the people I met on online dating sites, some have become lovers, and some are my consequential strangers.
Final Thoughts
There was a time I fear that I will run out of ideas or topics to write. That even my personal stories will run dry.
But now I know, it was a fear that my inner saboteur was pushing on my mind, the other day, I wrote — The One Thing Writers Can Get Out of Online Dating Apps, and online dating apps are where we take off all our inhibitions.
Inhibition
Even if I’m like most introverts and enjoy solitary moments, I also need the human connection. And while I make no excuses for why I go to online dating apps, I meet real people with interesting stories.
For us to tell honest stories, we need to be “naked” for the readers. So we need to know how to spice up our stories with sexy words.
But not only did I shed my inhibitions while looking for dates, but I also happen to find my writing prompts.
