NOT YOUR BEST DAY?

Are you stumbling over those first lines or just having a bad day?

Let’s sidebar …

CHARACTER

Do you have a character in your head? Write about your character. Write about their best friend. Write about their cat. Write about their mother.

SCENARIO

Put your character into a scenario — it doesn’t have to be a scenario from your story. It can be a wedding where a bride doesn’t show. A remote holiday cottage where the electricity doesn’t work. A busy commuter platform where three trains have been cancelled. Or meeting a stranger who claims to know them with startlingly accurate facts.

Write about your character’s thoughts, actions, and reactions.

SO …

What happened? Are you busy? Are you writing?
