Writing in the Heat

Writing in the heat on a hot summer’s day will burn your mind and crush your thoughts

Writing on a hot summer’s day Will burn your mind And crush your thoughts As you sit in a room Working your way through Sweating in decay.

The only relief Is the cooling fan It sparks your sanity Promoting endurance To keep you going Feeling the longing To escape To a cooler place.

The heat Is unbearable As you sit And write Feeling the burn Of the sun Frying your mind To send it to hell So you will give up And end your day Without any pay.

Sweat drips Down your cheeks Your fingers are hot Moving on the keys Your back sweltering On the seat You can’t stop There is a deadline To keep.

The coolness of the fan Implores you to go on As your brain gains power Moving you on Further down the page You smile to yourself Knowing You have finally Made it To the end.
