Writing Contest — The Magic of the Drabble

The Showcase’s First Writing Contest

I am incredibly pleased to announce The Showcase’s very first contest.

Both of this month’s contests will hopefully spark the memories and interests we all had when we were children and possibly lost. This contest is winner-take-all with a prize of $10 USD. So, without further ado, this month’s writing theme will be…

MAGIC

Magician | Image generated and edited by Claude Davis III

Whether it was a grandparent hiding a quarter behind our ear or a professional on stage, we have all been touched by magic in one way or another.

Here’s the rules you’ll need to follow:

  • Write a drabble consisting of exactly 100 words (excluding the title)
  • Drabble must not be published elsewhere
  • Publish the drabble with The Showcase
  • Incorporate the theme into the drabble (doesn’t have to be the main focus point)
  • Leave the AI to our art contest

It’s not a requirement, but I highly recommend adding a link to any of The Showcase’s contest posts to grow this and increase cash prizes, including runner-ups, as part of the payout.

It’s as simple as that. To enter, all you have to do is respond to either this post or the original announcement, and I’ll add you as a writer for The Showcase. Once you’re a writer, you can submit work for any of our contests. Now, who’s ready to win some cash?!

Notable Dates:

  • January 23rd at 11:59 pm Eastern is the last minute to enter
  • January 24th, I’ll post a link to all entries
  • January 31st, I’ll announce the winner
  • Payment will be via Paypal within one week of the winner's announcement
  • February 1st will start our next contests

Don't forget about our other contest this month. Double your chances of winning by entering both :)
