POETRY

Write to Excite Write to Delight

Where do words go at night

Photo by Kristopher Roller on Unsplash

My readings yearn So I write to learn

The gift you give are the words I’ve read

I write to excite I write to enlight

My thoughts they flow our words endow

As energy flows the Sun slowly bows

I feel writers plight it’s hard to say night

As the morning nears your words I hold dear you have my ear

At times draw tears as I reflect the years

Even tonight Words still shine bright

I write to excite I write to enlight

Through our words, our spirit takes flight

Gaeilge (Irish)

Mo léamha yearn Scríobhaim chun foghlaim

An bronntanas a thugann tú Na focail a léigh mé

Scríobhaim to dhéanamh Scríobhaim to solais

Sreabhann mo smaointe endow ár bhfocail

De réir mar a shreabhann fuinneamh bogann an Ghrian go mall

Is dóigh liom go bhfuil scríbhneoirí buartha tá sé deacair oíche a rá

De réir mar a bhíonn an mhaidin ag druidim is breá liom do chuid focal tá mo chluas agat

Tarraing deora uaireanta mar a léirím na blianta

Fiú anocht Tá focail fós geal

Scríobhaim to dhéanamh Scríobhaim to solais

Trí mheán ár bhfocail, téann ár spiorad ar foluain
