(Updated May, 25th, 2021)

Dear Reader, Thank you for your interest in our publication Restyle. In this post, I am going to share the Submission Guidelines for new writers. Please read these carefully before submitting a story to Restyle! Check my Style Guide for formatting tips. I also wrote a post with a few tips for newbies.

1. Who we are

Restyle” is a new publication on Medium focusing on fashion, menswear, style, grooming, and more. I’d like to turn this publication into a great destination for stories on sustainability, mindful shopping, timeless fashion, building confidence, and self-improvement.

2. Topics we like

Topics I’d like to see here at “Restyle” typically cover all aspects of fashion, style, grooming, health, and self-improvement. Feel free to submit your well-crafted stories on anything related to those topics. If your story does not fit these categories, I might still want to publish it. So give it a try!

3. What we accept

Restyle accepts both, published stories and unpublished drafts

I like to have most stories behind paywall as members of the Medium Partner Program. This ensures that you get paid. 100% of Partner Program earnings go to you, the author. But you can also publish free stories.

I do prefer stories by paying Medium members. Because this will directly benefit other writers.

Please ensure that your posts follow my Style Guide!

4. What we don’t accept

I won’t publish stories with extensive CTA (call-to-action). You can add a link to your website here and there, but no spamming, please!

I also won’t accept posts with affiliate links. One or two might be fine, but again no spamming! Affiliate links have to be labeled as such.

I won’t publish stories that violate the Medium Guidelines, of course. Please keep the Medium Distribution Guidelines in mind when crafting your post. This ensures a higher chance of curation by Medium and therefore a greater reach.

I accept both, published stories and unpublished drafts, although I prefer the latter. I also accept stories that have been posted elsewhere, for example on your own blog or other blogs, but original content is always welcome. Also, follow the duplicate content guidelines by Medium, please!

5. How to submit

For new writers: You need to be added as a writer to this publication first. Post a comment down below with your Medium username and I’ll do our best to add you as a writer as quickly as possible.

If you’ve been added as a writer: Submit your draft via the “” menu in the top right corner of the Medium editor. Choose “Add to publication” and look for “Restyle”. Then click the green “Submit” button. I’ll receive your draft, go through it, and publish it. If it fits this publication and follows this guideline.

6. After submitting

After your successful submission, remember Medium is a community. With this in mind, don’t just write and post articles. Read other writer’s work, leave comments, and clap for your favorite stories! You never know, it might just make someone else’s day.
